This just tells me the team saw how shaky Mac looked and fed off that. Now they have VW in there and it’s not even about him making s big save - just not having zero confidence lets them play with energy.

We have a 10 game batch now for Mac. This explanation doesn’t hold water. This devils team been controlling 60% of play all season, even in losses.

Vanacek’s last 4 games don’t look great either.

The Devils defense has been under more pressure during the losing streak as teams started to dump the puck in more often.
