Maybe, but you have one of the best snipers in the league with essentially an open shot in the slot. He probably was going to score regardless.
We can't know that because he had an easy shot there. His other goal was a gift off a terrible rebound by Blackwood. The only goal I give a pass on is the Bergeron tip.

And mac gives him more space to shoot

Cmon now.

But again, the biggie is goal #2. Changed the entire complextion.

Okhotiuk has looked comfortable once he got a couple shifts under his belt. Definitely looks like an nhl player to me. And right now not down the road.

Every time Blackwood has a good game we hear the front office trot out the excuses saying he’s coming into form or whatever

And then he goes out and shits the bed every time
Just walk the f*** away.

He's not under contract next year, so it's not like we have to eat a buyout or something like the last guy.

I don't care if he's 19 or if he's 37, he's FINISHED here.

The 1st pasta goal was a bad rebound. The second one was a goal on every goalie in the league.
The second goal was a BAD one because he CREATED it by turning the puck over.

He deserves even more heat on that then allowing a goal on a clean wrist shot from way above the circles that leaks through him.

“If you flip the goalies NJ is definitely winning”

Perfectly said, from the main board

Schmid 93% save percentage in 8 games. Blackwood 89%. And yet this organization sends down Schmid.

That was always going to be the case. They weren't going to carry 3 goalies and I don't think that there was ever a real chance that they were going to expose Mac to waivers in the middle of the season. That could potentially be a permanent decision over a relatively small sample for Schmid.

I think Blackwood isn't back next year, and if he struggles for a prolonged period of time, it may force the decision to try and get him down this season, but I don't think that was ever going to be the case over a handful of games in 22-23 for each.

Yes, that was horrendous. No doubt.

But it ultimately doesn't matter. If we can't win with Mac we aren't winning because he's going to play. The organization loves him.

And even against Ullmark, if you give Boston the chances we had, they would have 5 by now.
