But Oshie was always a playoff beast for us. On a team with a whole lot of playoff disappointments, Oshie always showed up.

He was so good during that Florida series

The highlight goals/moves and shoot-outs gets the eye of the public, and known for big hits and warrior style of play and great character and teammate.

What sticks with me is how great he was at the "small details" that you dont normally pay much attention to. He was absolute beast at screening and blocking guys, timely stick lifts and such. He made it a lot easier for guys like Ovechkin and Kuznetsov to do their things, winning them an extra second or some space.

Oshie goes down as one of the favourite Caps ever worn the jersey for me. Such a likable character all around. Hope to see him around for a long time for whatever role with the organization and hockey at overall.

Against Tampa in 2018 Caps lost games 3-5 and everything felt so familiar, first elimination game of the playoffs, Oshie opened the scoring and added an empty netter, led all forwards in ice time, #2 star after Holtby. Only the 2nd win past the 2nd round for the Caps at home at the time.

Proud to say I was on the right side of history when he signed that 8 year deal. But what was I thinking saying that he would play past Ovi’s final season? LOL
