Giving him 2nd year was baffling and his play this year has been horrific
With a bunch of kids proving they can play in NHL and Brodie looking washed it makes sense the Hawks are playing kids to end year and will buy out Brodie
His decline was seriously like a 90 degree drop. 4 really solid years for Toronto and then was terrible round 2 against the Panthers and brutal since
Subban fell off crazy fast too. Super unfortunate, both great playersI have never seen a player drop off as rapidly as he did
Went from being a top pair, defensive stud to basically unplayable
One of those guys that lost a step he couldn't afford to lose.
It impacts everything. When to make a move, how fast you can recover from a decision, how much time you have with the puck, how much time the opponent has to make a decision when you're bearing down on them.
Some guys... they're on step away from the whole house of cards falling.
And yet our coaching staff continued to shoehorn him in a prominent role despite everything saying he shouldnt have beenI have never seen a player drop off as rapidly as he did

Yeah early on he was terrific for us but he fell off an epic chasm, for a few reasons. His decline was seriously like a 90 degree drop. 4 really solid years for Toronto and then was terrible round 2 against the Panthers and brutal since
Another good example.Subban fell off crazy fast too. Super unfortunate, both great players
If that's the case, maybe they look to swap him for someone just as shitty in the hopes a new team helps boosts bothhis buyout saves us about $260K over 2 years. Maybe just IR him for the season? his bonus is 2.5 and his salary is $775 buyout is not really worth it.
This guy was done years ago in Toronto. Blows my mind people are paid to make decisions like signing Brodie

A TOP GEAR REFERENCE I LOVE YOUTJ Brodie was one of the most underrated defencemen in recent memory. The guy just are up minutes and was as dependable as a Toyota Land Cruiser.
But after his last season in Toronto, it should have been clear to anyone that there was no gas left in the tank, the wheels had fallen off, and he'd tumbled down a cliff. It was literally the end of Richard Hammond's truck in the Bolivia Special.
