Prospect Info: Syracuse Crunch, Orlando Solar Bears & Prospects

Pitre scores the winner in Game 3. Kitchener still leads the series 2-1

Gauthier with an assist as Drummonville wins game 3 after also being down 2 games in their series

Gill with 1 goal, 1 assist as Moncton goes up 3 games to none

Geekie with 2 Power Play goals tonight for Syracuse, after a slow start with 4 points (1G, 3A) in his first 10 - in the 11 games since Geekie has 13 points (8G, 5A) and has pointed in 9 of the 11 games.

Crunch win 5-2

- Duke scores #17
- like creg said Geekie continues to score and gain confidence.
- Schmidt scores his 3rd
- Crozier and Szturc both pick up assists

Crunch have 8 games left in the regular season - 2 against Toronto who is above them in the division and 3 against Utica who are last in the division

Gauthier scores a hattrick (1 sh, 1 pp, 1 even strength) as Drummondville evens the series 2-2

Lightning prospect tournament invite Kyle Chyzowski is a WHL First Team All-Star (west conference)

He is still slated to join Denver in the NCAA next season as DU chase a 3rd straight national championship this week

The 20-year-old product of Surrey, B.C., finished fourth in WHL scoring with 105 points (41G-64A) in 66 games. Chyzowski’s 105 points smashed his previous career-high total of 50 (2023-24). Named the 49th captain of the Winterhawks this fall, Chyzowski was one of only nine WHL players to surpass the 40-goal plateau and his 41 markers were tied for fifth overall. He also finished tied for seventh in assists, while his 29 power-play helpers were good for fourth in the WHL. The veteran forward was a special teams threat all season, with his four shorthanded goals tied for third among WHL players. He added another five shorthanded assists to lead all WHL players. Chyzowski shot the puck more than anyone in the WHL, registering 278 shots on goal.

Assist for Dyllan Gill as Moncton sweeps the Québec Remparts

Big assist for Golicic in game 4 as Gatineau avoids the sweep and prolongs their series with Rouyn-Noranda.

Right now Jan Golicic could be the first Lightning CHL prospect to join Syracuse. Gatineau plays Game 5 on Friday

Geekie is on fire, another 3 points tonight. Seems like only a matter of time before he's back with the big club.

Crunch win an important one against the Marlies 4-1

- Geekie with 2 goals and an assist. He's scoring like a guy who's too good for the AHL which is perfect. Since the start of March, he has 10 goals + 1 shootout winner (14 games)
- Finley scores his 14th goal of the season. That's a new career high for him after scoring 13 last season in 52 games. It only took him 38 games this year.

Gauthier scores his 6th goal of the series, but Halifax goes ahead 3 games to 2

Jan Golicic's OHL season is over. He is now free to be re-assigned to Syracuse

Thinking ahead, I'm a little unclear on when players become eligible for waivers. Are players like Crozier and Finley exempt next season?

Crozier should be exempt for next season (unless he starts playing lots of NHL games).

I think Finley will be waiver eligible next season due to the length of time since he signed his first NHL contract.

There is maybe an argument that Finley should be exempt until Dec 2025, because that makes five years since he actually signed his deal, but that was due to the delayed start of the 2020-21 season.

Carlile, Dureau, Finley, and Korczak will become waiver eligible next season.

Crunch beat the Marlies again, 3-2 in the shootout

- Duke scores his 18th goal. He still has time to hit the 20 goal mark as a first year pro
- Szturc scores the SO winner

Drummondville lose Game 7

Having likely played his last game in a Rouge et Bleu uniform, Ethan Gauthier was inconsolable as he left the locker room.
"We have to tip our hats to them. Their goalie was incredible. For our part, I liked the effort we put in to get back into the game. It wasn't an easy situation, but we worked until the end. I'm proud of the way we fought," said the Drummondville forward, who saw his father and brother wear the Voltigeurs uniform before him.

The Tampa Bay Lightning prospect also highlighted the team's progress throughout last season. "We evolved so much during the year. We had a close-knit group. The kids fit right into the team's mold. They worked extremely hard. Our leadership group did a good job helping these kids break into the league. I'm extremely proud of these guys."

Gauthier had 6 goals and 12 points in the 7 game series.

He is free to join the Crunch which would give Syracuse 2 of the Lightning's top 3 prospects along with Geekie. Isaac Howard could make it all 3.

Happy to see Gauthier get his chip last year at least. I think he is going to surprise people

Gauthier is on his way to Syracuse.

#Voltigeurs forward Ethan Gauthier will report to @SyracuseCrunch in the next few hours. He may face #Rocket on Saturday #AHL

Syracuse is currently on a 5 game winning streak. Wednesday night they beat Utica 2-1 in OT

- Groshev scored his 6th. He's been playing on defense with leftys Carlile and Walford out of the lineup. They had former Princeton captain Noah de la Durantaye on a tryout but released him this past weekend before he could play a game.
- Crozier scores his 9th of the season, and his 2nd OT winner this year.

That's pretty crazy. Thought he might be on his way out of the org after the suspension but now he's playing D? Surprising but interesting, didn't know he could pull that off.

Crunch win their 6th straight game 2-1

- Ryan Fanti has been excellent in his last 3 games for the Crunch. 64/66 saves
- Connor Kurth records his first pro point in his 2nd game
