Prospect Info: Syracuse Crunch, Orlando Solar Bears & Prospects

"He is an incredible elite conditioned athlete," said UNH Men's Hockey Head Coach Mike Souza. "We talk about letting no day go by where you waste daytime, and he epitomizes that with what he does for the program on the ice, but also off the ice in terms of his preparations."

Souza describes Gagne as a hardworking athlete with the potential to play at the highest level. Gagne is one of the leading defensemen in Hockey East recognized as a 2023-24 Third-Team All-Star and runner-up for the Hockey East Best Defensive Defenseman Award. He also won UNH's Roger A. LeClerc Most Valuable Player Award and the Rod Langway Best Defenseman Award.

"He represents the program well in so many areas and I am really proud of the young man he's become during his time here," said Souza.

Assist for Golicic

Isaac Howard is a finalist for Big Ten Player of the Year with Jimmy Snuggerud and Aiden Fink

Eamon Powell wins Hockey East's Top Defensive Defenseman Award in his 5th year.

Crunch offense explodes in a 9-4 win

- Hattrick for Logan Brown
- 1 goal, 2 assists for Finley
- 3 assists for Geekie
- 1 goal, 1 assist for Szturc
- 2 assists for Duke
- 2 assists for Carlile

Eamon Powell named a 1st team All - Hockey East selection, Alex Gagne named to the 3rd team

These were voted on by the head coaches of the conference

I don't know about this season but Brown and Finley are producing at a nice rate, not looking far off from NHL level. Crozier too, keeps putting up points. Don't know if they'll retain Brown but there might be a half dozen guys on the current Crunch team with a real shot of making the big club next season by the looks of it.

Huuhtanen has barely put up any points since he first got injured and didn't play yesterday, hopefully it's something that doesn't put a dent in his long term future.

Harvard eliminated in OT by Clarkson.

And so begins the Kyle Aucoin era of the Tampa Bay Lightning.

I want to point out this game was a 3-in-3, but somehow, against all odds, without any kind of explanation, they kept playing hard.

OSB won in the SO today. Also, a 3-in-3.

Friday @ Jacksonville 7pm - win
Saturday vs Florida 7pm - loss
Sunday vs Savannah 3pm - SOW

Orlando put 49 shots on Savannah.

So I don't want to hear about stuff like how tired the Lightning are playing 4 games in 6 days.

Upcoming prospects: (as far as I understand it, the questionable guys from last year, Webster, Powell, etc. are in fact free agents)

2025 deadline
F Ethan Hay - Kingston Frontenacs
D Kyle Aucoin - Harvard
D Alex Gagne - UNH

All three of these guys they may let walk. Aucoin and Gagne both have finished their final year in the NCAA, so if TB does want to go the ATO route, they can.

2026 deadline
F Robert Cooper Flinton - Dartmouth
F Isaac Howard - Michigan State
F Connor Kurth - Minnesota
F Kaden Pitre - Flint Firebirds
F Noah Steen - Orebro (SHL)
D Jan Golicic - Gatineau Olympiques
G Harrison Mengehin - Medicine Hat Tigers

Howard could be playing pro next season (some combination of TB and Syracuse).
Kaden Pitre is being slept on a bit by us. He's Flint's goal scoring and points leader. He turned 19 last month, so next season will really be his 19-year-old campaign.
Flinton has more points than teammate Luke Haymes, and people think Haymes is one of the best college free agents. By stat line, I don't really see it.

Howard wins Big Ten player of the year, big ten scoring leader, and 1st team all big ten

Howard is the first Lightning prospect to win big ten player of the year since Adam Wilcox

Development camper TJ Hughes was named 2nd team all big ten

Connor Kurth named an honorable mention (there is no 3rd team selections)
