Fellow synesthetes what do you associate the teams with?
Originally I was going through all the teams and what I associate with them regarding foods/tastes, shapes, seasons or whatever but thought I would just keep it simple and just lump them into the basic tastes as that is my most visceral reaction. This will also allow for the obvious "salty" fanbase jokes. There's some I struggled with trying to place into one category neatly and some have changed for me through the years (the Hawks with Kane and Toews was very much bitter but current iteration I feel is more salty for example) but this is my list for all the teams:
Sweet:
Senators, Panthers, Bruins, Penguins, Canucks
Sour:
Sharks (extremely sour)
Salty:
Capitals, Jets, Stars, Predators, Blackhawks
Blue Jackets: The texture of honey but with a far saltier taste, Thursday and a black outlined unfilled rectangle
Bitter:
Rangers and Islanders when associated with them via New York, Leafs, Canadiens (French), Flyers, Sabres, Kings, Ducks
Savoury:
Islanders when not associated with the Rangers, Lightning, Hurricanes, Canadiens (English), Red Wings, Avalanche, Knights, Oilers, Blues, Kraken
Spicy:
Flames, Devils, Utah (but only via the Coyotes connection)
