For his time, he was a good big man. Usually had to have the right opponent but still, workrate wasn't that big of a deal back then and he was a larger than life type of character that more than made for his shortcomings.
People knock his promos because of botches here and there but I loved his promo ability. That crazy look and the low talking, almost whispering was great and then the next sentence he'd yell out. Loved that.
And Survivor Series vs HBK is up there with my favourite moments in wrestling because I hated HBK's 1996 title run and still do.
I don't know/remember if the commentary is edited out but if not, I love that they didn't say anything.
He didnt have long run in ECW, but he was over big with that crowd
I think he was perfectly packaged in wwf as sid justice and later as "sycho" sid. He was a scary and menacing figure and he was every bit believable.
Sid said he hated the psycho gimmick which was odd to me because I thought he was at his best with it.
I thought he was in the hall a long time ago, and it's a shame he left the world without getting in first.
Rest in peace to one of my most memorable childhood characters.
