Why does Switzerland refuse to set up for one timers on the PP

Swiss Mickey Mouse coaches probably don't even know what a one timer is. Also, that would require them sending their best players out there for PP's. Something they apparently really don't wanna do.

Yet another Muggli turnover and penalty. Yet Jenni keeps on sending him out there. All the time. Lol.

It's amazing to me that almost all national team fans have some very strong opinions about roster selection and player use that fans of other nations can see and also wonder about. We all have it and it seems like the federation folks are just stubborn about their selections.

Real shitshow today. Last year we almost beat Sweden in the knock out stage. This time the performance looks like night and day. And this team is better on paper...

Discipline is the problem. And the Swedish team is probably better as well. 5vs5 not so much but on the PP they are.

Sadly they are on ice instead of paper.

:D

And again, the Swedes have two below the goal line and win the puck against three Swiss players resulting in a great opportunity for Sweden. Similar to the 2nd goal IMO.

They are doing that set up since 2020 or maybe even for longer. It has never really worked well but they keep doing it. Definition of insanity right there.

Wasn't a fluke. It was just a mistake by Kirsch who didn't seal the post properly. It's true Czechia scored a slapstick goal in game 1 but the Gruber goal in today's game was a lucky bounce, too.
It was a goalie mistake but also quite a fluke. The Gruber goal was a fluke too, that's for sure. Still Switzerland should beat Kazakhstan smoothly and then it would be all about the one QF game.

The Swiss team is a pack of heartless players. They simply won't commit to blocking shots and end up screening or getting a piece of it. A gutless hockey team.

If they'd picked up something at 5-on-5 during that mid-first period flurry, maybe this is a different game but they're just taking them apart.

Eklund gets a goal, E5.

If you take this many penalties it becomes irrelevant what you do 5vs5. You're not gonna win against that Swedish team.

On the PP only though. 5vs5 they're gonna have to find another gear or two if they wanna beat Czechia. I wouldn't just expect Czechia to take penalties the way Switzerland does.

FUS won't get a point for that but it all started with him.

Watching that and then thinking - oh yeah, that's a Carolina style play and oh yeah... he's a Carolina draftee.

True. Their PP is just on another level - both units.

Yeah, it’s actually something we noticed when we drafted him, his English was amazing and he has this very deep voice.

He actually is very intelligent with his answers as well, he talks, kind of like Zadorov honestly lol

He sounds like so many of the students at my local university, with only the touch of something that isn't quite NA. We had a Lithuanian and a German in my cohort (the Lithuanian is now a professor, double doctorate, absolutely brilliant) and people had no idea.

Loved him in his draft year, Vancouver has an excellent player on the horizon.
