I can't agree, i am willing to wait for the Canada-Russia game as long as playdown must win games are decided properly. I simply will never understand European fans always making excuses for this travesty. They could organize this tournament so this wouldn't be an issue, they just don't care.
pfft, there has to be a way, is the country hosting not capable of having multiple venues available?, if not should they even be hosting? it's only 4 games in the quarters to start. There has to be a way, no more excuses, get it done. You can't tell me europe and the IIHF can't pull this off.Multiple games being played at the same arena so no. In a normal environment there'd be challenges with ticket holders too.
But it's the same at the World Juniors which are in Canada or a border town 8 out of 10 times. I don't think it's a European thing. World Hockey Challenge also follows this style.I can't agree, i am willing to wait for the Canada-Russia game as long as playdown must win games are decided properly. But this isn't only about europe and it's not footy.Footy is decided that way. We are just used to it and accept it. I honestly have a hard time believing you find a lot of poeple accepting triple overtimes in Germany.
I hate it at the WJC too but that's true, I guess it's not just a european thing, thanks for pointing that out.But it's the same at the World Juniors which are in Canada or a border town 8 out of 10 times. I don't think it's a European thing. World Hockey Challenge also follows this style.
I can only speak for Extraliga (Czech league) but they let those games go as many periods as possible to find a winner. I'm willing to bet SEL, KHL and LIIGA are the same for the playoffs?
I don't think it's a Euro thing.. I think it's a arena and tournament issue. I'll bet anything all the minor tourneys in Canada that happen every weekend follow this as well
You are right. But it's not only about NA either. They adopt things from NA as well, see 3 on 3 overtimes. But this isn't only about europe and it's not footy.
Oh wait, I forgot, this tournament is all about Europe.
They have 2 venues... that's all you need. Calgary and Edmonton for instance. Are you saying when the quarters come that one team should play in Edmonton, another goes to Red Deer, a third goes to Canmore and the fourth plays in Edmonton?pfft, there has to be a way, is the country hosting not capable of having multiple venues available?, if not should they even be hosting? it's only 4 games in the quarters to start. Congrats to Germany. If you play with this much hesitation in 10 mins overtime like Switzerland did you dont deserve to win. Swiss had maybe with the slightly more talented team but germany wanted it more. From the Swiss perspective Fischers position should be up to debate but probably wont. I like some thigs he brought to the National Team mainly consistency and accountablilty but choking twice in a row in the quarters and the inability to beat top nations is worrying. On top of that only two lines really worked all tournament long. Fischer wasnt able or willing to react to that. This tournament was a golden opporunity for our country and was wasted just like the olympics 2018.
Then beat Russia clean in 60.lol Good luck today... I'll have it on a screen on mute to my left.lolI hate it at the WJC too but that's true, I guess it's not just a european thing, thanks for pointing that out.
I just don't get why they can't fix this and make sure the games are decided properly, this shootout stuff, I'm sick of it.
God, I just hate it man....................wish they would or could do something about this, it's a beyond shit way to decide big games like today. You make the mistake in assuming 10K+ arenas grow like mushrooms in Europe.
There are clear safety guidelines in handling mass crowds and having enough time between the games is mandatory. Plus as it was already said, broadcast rights holder have a window in their own schedules reserved for the games. Back in the day there used to satellite signal windows which they had to buy, which sometimes resulted in broadcasts being cut off for events that went longer than intended.
You're asking for a lot there, lol. Then beat Russia clean in 60.lol Good luck today... I'll have it on a screen on mute to my left.lol
3 of the top 7 scorer and Perfetti as an 'unknown' might be enough! As you know, I'm big on Kuemper. You're asking a lot there, lol.
I'll tell you one thing, we had better beat them in 60, because you can be sure they won't be beating them in a shootout.
I'm not as high on Kuemper as you are but here is to hoping he plays his best today.3 of the top 7 scorer and Perfetti as an 'unknown' might be enough! As you know, I'm big on Kuemper.
No, it is not. What you mean is, that it is only all about Europe when USA and Canada perform badly. But this isn't only about europe and it's not footy.
Oh wait, I forgot, this tournament is all about Europe.
No, it has nothing to do with how Canada or the U.S perform, why would I be concerned about that? Canada has won this tournament numerous times and we won gold on a shootout once to top it all off.No, it is not. What you mean is, that it is only all about Europe when USA and Canada perform badly.
He beat Canada twice, once lost in OT, beat Czechs this season, and in 2018. lost against Sweden (21 NHL player) in SO.
