If Caufield (like 160 lbs) is now watching over his shoulder, not gonna go into the crease, etc - he could be taken out of this series asap.
That’s the thing with Ovi. Not only is he GOAT goal scorer - this is the kind of hit that could destroy a skill player who may not be mentally strong.
One more goal and caps can go into beatdown/physical mode

Man watching the blues/jets leafs/ott teams on the PP and then watching ours is kinda sad. The speed and ferocity of their zone entries is miles above what the caps have.

Clarifying that high stick thing. If a player touches a puck with a stick above the shoulders, its a stoppage, and its reviewable, so no goal after that. If the shot is touched with a stick above the crossbar and goes it, its no goal. The question was the initial touch, was up around the shoulders, definitely well above the crossbar but since it hit the goalie rather than going straight in, the only question was the touching above the shoulders prior to the goal. In that sense, it was close enough that MSL didn't challenge it. If it had gone straight in off the tip it would have been no goal.

Some people might chuckle at Ovi standing - literally - at the blue line during the power play.
But by saving his energy he had enough fuel left in the tank to get back, disrupt the play, and then also block a shot. Nothing to chuckle at.

Honestly, I was very concerned about him last season. One could clearly see his high hockey IQ, but he often looked clumsy and simply couldn’t finish.
I am so glad that he has blossomed this year. A spectacular progress!
