TSN: Sweeney praised by other GMs for work on TDL day

Weird hill to die on Lou.
Not dying on anything, just pointing out the Bruins have made similar mistakes and every player would do the same thing wanting to play and every organization does the same thing dealing with these things. It was a quick short tournament and like the play-offs it's give the injection see you after the game.

Comments on the Bruins treatment of Bergeron in the 2013 cup finals?

It’s irrelevant. The Wild medical staff has had their issues and while the Bruins took the high road, there was serious reporting that they were incensed at what happened. Some medical staffs have more issues than others.

Jesus this is scary bad. I know people say the late rounds are a crap shoot and they aren’t 100% wrong but not landing more than 1 decent player later than the 2nd round in 10 years is unacceptable.

Locmelis is receiving a lot of attention (deservedly so) but any early impressions of Ty Gallagher?

Believe he is signed to an AHL deal and not an ELC. Is there anything to his game?

if the panthers end up winning their series against the leaf losers, sweeney gets an A+ for his trade deadline deals. hated the marchand trade and still want him back next year but getting a 1st for
an injured player that steered himself to 1 spot is pretty damn solid.

Sabotages the Leafs by trading them Brandon Carlo, who always crumbles against the forecheck of the Panthers, further insuring that 2nd turns into a 1st.

Sweeney playing chess not checkers at this past deadline.

Sweeney got quite a haul and if he gets a future 1st round pick from Florida then he definitely had the best trade deadline this season.

Donny has set it up with having a top 10 pick this year, 2 first round picks in 2026 and possibly 2 more in 2027. For the future of the Bruins to be looking really good, hopefully he does much better with these picks than he did the last time he shuffled the roster around by moving players out for high picks in the 2015 draft.

It all looks good now, fingers crossed those picks help the Bruins win some Cups, whether it’s by keeping them or using them as assets.

But can he complete the job he started and use those picks properly.

If we can hit on some draft picks that are top 6 forwards and or second pair dee, the trades will be great.
We will not know the results for 2-3 years.
Minten should get his chance next year.
Zellers is a few years away.
The other players we got are " throw in's".
Not sure if Casey will last another season with us, based on how he played?
Could be a candidate for a buy out?

“His concern with Boston was that the GM maybe has 1-2 years left,” a source said to RG.

It wasn’t just Sweeney’s contract status that gave Tocchet pause, though. Sweeney also has a reputation for firing coaches early in their tenures. Sweeney has fired three coaches during his time with the Bruins, including two in the last three years.

He was concerned for two reasons,” a different source said to RG. “Sweeney’s status and Sweeney’s track record with his head coaches.”

Still time to clean house Charlie!
