Yeah, sure.... I'm living in mölndal in Sweden and I've never been to Canada. I have though been to Us, if that makes me a Canadian. However, I still think Sweden was deserved to win this game. They played better!

Sorry to offend you

Wilka has some beefs with certain canadans or north americans in general around here, I suspect he's getting a bit paranoid. ;)

I think this was a game that could have gone either way, it was pretty even. The number of good scoring chances must have been pretty much the same for both teams. In the end, the deeper russian talent pool weighed it over to their favour.

Ovechkin's speed, balance and strength at the 2-1 goal was awesome!

Which cannot be said for the pylon masking as a swedish defender. Who was it? Frögren?

cmon now, any comments on lundqvist's play? ;)

He looked good in my opinion. I would even add that he played better than his counterpart, Sokolov, who looked not very confident out there.

I agree, Sokolov looked a bit shaky, but isn't that his style also? He did do some pretty good saves when he had to, and that's what counts.

Actually I haven't seen him play much ... only at last year's World Cup, and a handful of games with Omsk (since Maracle took over as the starter). He did make some good saves, but what a shaky performance!!!

He couldn't do anything on Malkin's goal. Malkin didn't hit the puck clean nad it was a strange shot. The first goal, however, maybe Lundqvist should have saved. Kovalchuk came a little to clos to goal when Frögren didn't came out on him, and he realesed a low shot that went in. But overall Lundqvist played really well, and saved Sweden at times. And remember, he'll be even better, he has just practised once since the SEL finals according to Aftonbladet.

Semin had a few good scoring chances, but wasn't involved in much but that.
Ovechkin looked good, he challenged the Swedish defence several times.

Hopefully he's [Semin] finally over that injury that had been hampering him a bit late in the RSL season from what I can gather.
