I anticipate a repeat of the 94 Olympics and the coming out party for Peter Forsberg with Dahlin. Will he produce magic and become a postage stamp for 2019? I think so and he will show he's the best Swedish prospect since Foppa.

Swedish wjc team that won gold was not able to beat a Swedish 3rd tier team before OT. They would get humiliated against this olympic team for sure.

Fransson is the big head scratcher for me. There must surely be better options out there.

This is a huge mistake from your team Sweden. Dahlin will be eaten alive (so to speak).
He is def. not ready to represent team Sweden at the Pyongyang Olympics.

I might be biased to say this but,...your team does not look good.

He'll be fine.

And the Olympics are not going to be held in North Korea.
 I can't imagine any countries sending their athletes to the Olympics if this were the case.

Rasmus Dahlin making the Swedish Olympic team officially makes them the most interesting team to watch good reason to watch the tournament

No chance

Look at the Russians. Before this year they medaled 7 years straight at the WJC, yet the bulk of their teams are comprised of fringe KHLers, VHLers and a hanful of CHLers.
Please enlighten me as to how they’re on a higher level than all-stars from the KHL, SHL, NLA, etc.

FWIW, Larry Brooks thinks the Rangers will want to keep Lias in the AHL after he rehabs his shoulder injury.

https://nypost.com/2018/01/16/the-one-hope-keeping-rangers-from-year-of-failed-re-tooling/

Relevant quote:
A caveat here. The Post has learned that management is weighing sending Andersson to the Wolf Pack once the center completes rehab on the shoulder he injured in captaining Sweden to the silver medal in the World Juniors. If the center proves capable, he could be in New York playing for the Rangers, rather than back in Gothenburg playing for Frolunda, within the next month or so.

Doesn't really say anything about what the organizations decision would be if SWE does want Andersson for the Olympics.

But, this depends on A) how well/quickly Andersson comes back from injury and B) how well/quickly the other three come back from injury.

If Andersson recovers in time AND Gronborg wants him, I have a feeling Rangers allow him to go, but we'll have to see what the timetables are like.

Robert Nilsson has back problems, hasn't played since Nov. Klasen is concussed, that's why his team got Emerson Etem as replacement. Recovery time unclear for both.
Rodin broke his leg in Dec, he probably wouldn't make it back for the start, and even if he did, he wouldn't be in game shape.

Not sure why Nygren is out, maybe you Swedes know if there are too many D of his type or something?

Puck Responsibility is the new deal! Think Sir Väs (Sir Wzzz in "Robin Hood") where he holds on to his money bags.

It's the OPPOSITE of finnish puck relations.

Andersson was assigned to the Wolf Pack (Rangers AHL affiliate) on the 15th.

I believe this now makes him ineligible to participate in the Olympics?

According to @Aahlstroem the Rangers haven't officially told Frolunda whether he's going back to Frolunda or not. So, he might still be eligible.

I've seen one too many suggest Dahlin should be an extra D on this team, to watch and learn in favor of the likes of Fransson and Ahnelöv.

So I'm gonna say it, I want him to be in the top-4 and first PP. I think he'll be even better in high-paced surroundings and be a leading player on this team. Better teammates will suit him. Doesn't matter that he's 17, he can do things on the ice that other players can't. His chances of doing what Laine did two years ago at a similar level(WCH) are equally as good, their mentality is similar and they're not fazed by anything. He's putting up 40+ points in the NHL next season, and might aswell get a head start now.

Lidström was 22 when he finished his rookie season in the NHL
Salming was 24 when he put up 40 point season in the NHL
Karlsson was 21 when he put up 40 point season in the NHL
Kronwall was 27 when he put up 40 point season in the NHL
CJohansson was 21 when he finished his rookie season in the NHL

Öhlund 21, rookie season

Enström was 26 when put up 40 point season in the NHL
OEL was 23 when he got his 40 point season
Hedman was 24 when he got his 40

There is 0,00% chance for Dahlin to score 40 points next season.
60/40 he will play in the SHL, 30/70 he will play in the AHL
10/90 he will play in the NHL.

This is a d-man, a 17 year old d-man,he is not a forward,he is a d-man.

Its super difficult as a 18 year old forward to break in the NHL
its even more so for European forwards, its insane difficult for 18 year
old d-men to break in the NHL,European,18 year old,d-man.............
its astronomical.

2 seasons until he plays his first game, another 2 when he scores his 40 points.

Dahlin might be 20 years old when he finishes his second NHL season. HIs first season might be survive and learn. And if he ends up in Edmonton or Buffalo a Stanley Cup might be within reach by year 2.

And...with the new draft lottery rules...what if he joins Xby, Malkin, Letang and Gustavsson in Pittsburgh? But the best thing might be playing next shift to Ekman-Larsson...

Your prediction here is hilariously bad.
