Was kind of disappointed with Boumedienne at Hlinka. Was expecting him to be the leading D with Annborn injured, but he did not really stand out at all. He was much more prominent, albeit not great, while playing for the U17 national team last season. Minor injury? Slow start to the season?

Instead Malte Vass was the most impressive D. Kind of a project, but he has some interesting tools which include mobility and a strong physical game.

Ihs Wozniak mediocre (as usual, imo), although he did probably have his best game in the bronze medal game.

Top Swede in the tournament (and it was not even close) was Eddie Genborg. He was good/great in all games. Exceptional motor and perfect timing in his hits. He had like 5-10 big hits in each game. Obviously he will never become a big time scorer, but his skating, physical game, motor and intensity will make him an excellent role player in the future. Very impressive.

I didn’t watch any of these games but Boummediene and Ihs Wozniak not standing out much doesn’t surprise me. Talent-wise neither of them are top 3 on this team. Klingsell and Stenberg are way more interesting as prospects imo.

Genborg and Vass? Interesting, don’t know anything about those two.

Was Björck noticeable?

Agree on Ihs Wozniak. He has not wow:ed me since tv-pucken… when he was on the ice 90% of the time for Norrbotten😅

Björck was very good defensively all tournament. Offensively kind of quiet, but stood out most in the last two games. Became more comfortable. During the tournament he had 4-5 solo raids that could have resulted in goals. Some very nice passing as well. Thought he handled himself well along the boards despite his size. Should be very dominant next year (like Benak this year).

Still a bit pissed Frondell was not able to play, that would have given Sweden two lethal lines offensively instead of one.

Thanks!

Frondell’s absence was a bit weird, especially how they announced it so early. Might be something we see more often when the tournament is played in NA. Longer pre-tournament camp and then the jetlag afterwards, not ideal for SHL/Allsvenskan players like him.

Was really disappointed by Sascha Boumedienne, Jakob Ihs-Wozniak and Oliwer Sjostrom. Was really impressed by the line of Viktor Klingsell-Milton Gastrin-Ivar Stenberg. Gastrin will be a late 1st round pick and Klingsell should be mentionned now. Eddie Genborg was a great surprise too !

They're are quick to issue passports in Sweden if their is a young promising Norwegian born player. :)
Felix Unger Sørum for u20, and now Brøngel-Larsson for u18 also capped for Norway u16.

Well Unger Sörum has represented us since Sweden Selects in 2017, he was born in Trondheim tho, i dunno when he moved to Sweden but he hasnt played with the Norwegian NT at any level unlike Bröngel-Larsson.

you mean like Norway did with Tobias Lindström and Kristian Jakobsson?

Felix Unger Sørum and Brøngel-Larsson both have swedish and norweigan parents, mixed.

Sweden has "lost" several players to the USA, Mattias Samuelsson, Oliver Wahlström etc.

Frondell needs more skilled players to work with, Wozniak and Genborg has slowed his game down this 5-nation
