Confirmed with Link: Svech and ZLH to Avs for Drury+

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.
Meh, not much to care about here. Established bottom 6 center best suited for the 4th line for two players that will ultimately follow the same path as Tomasino and Parsinnen. No major loss and no big pickup.

This is speculation on my part mainly because I’ve had too much caffeine from drinking Milo sweet tea.

Colorado fans are saying these are the type of players Bednar hates. Watch this is a roster pick um from both teams where Bednar is traded for brunette plus. Coaches can be traded.

But this is speculation on my part he traded fan favorites, who the current Avs coach hates, player type wise.

I will laugh my ass off if Bednar is traded to Nashville

Svech doesn't bother me but ZLH felt like a guy that might have something there considering he was injured for the first half of the season. Most likely it doesn't matter, but I don't think Drury makes much of a difference either.

I gotta admit though it does feel like our GM is still working for Colorado atm.

Yep this is another trash trade. Gives up 2 former 1st rounders that never got hardly a chance in nashville. Bare minimum they could of been 2 solid bottom 6ers. So we trade them for 1 bottom 6 forward who is older. Im not gonna sugar coat this McFarland's moves so far have been a$$. Looking at my other teams the blues make a great trade yesterday and has a young team and 4 first rounders and a clear direction. While McFarland has yet shown us any kind of direction. Really expecting a survanto pick on friday

He's acquiring guys that he's very familiar with and obviously likes (traded for each guy twice now). And he hasn't given up anything of note, so I definitely wouldn't say he's working for Colorado. Would like to see him branch out a little though

Awaiting a solution to the CMac mystery trades. Trading young prospects for 4th liners isn’t even any semblance of building. So far trades have been giving up not much for nothing much in return. Best I can say is that CMac, Blake and LangyB must, surely, have too much time on their hands. Why are they even talking about stuff like this at Draft time? Is this positioning for the block buster to come? I sure hope so!

Yeah grabbing guys one of the top teams in the league is more than willing to let go of doesn't exactly make me give a crap about whether he is familiar with them and likes them. Right now all I see is the exact same crap Trotz was pulling that everyone fussed about. Just because he is new doesn't make doing the exact same thing suddenly good.

I’m honestly starting to believe that people are highly over valuing the prospects and young players in this organization. It doesn’t matter if they were drafted in the first round, they’re really just not that great.
They may not be, but what we brought back ain't setting anyone on fire either. I guess he at least got a third round pick back that he gave away.

Good teams up against the cap let go of good players every single year. Like I've said elsewhere, I think the owner wants to win (squeak into the playoffs, make a profit) as soon as possible. At least Drury is 26 and an RFA, and Colton 30. They're not 35 like Haula, Stamkos and Marchessault

He is acquiring identity guys. Drury and Colton play the way he wants us to play. They can anchor the kids in the bottom 6.

I haven't seen anyone call either good yet so about the only thing you got to go on is at least they aren't older than dirt yet. Granted we still got older than we would have been so take that for what you will.

I guess in the dom/sub relationship with Sakic, CMac is definitely embracing that he's the sub? Colton is an ok player, but Colorado needed desperately to cut Cap, and we submissively gave them draft pick assets to help them do that. Drury is an ok player, but an RFA who will get paid again, and we submissively gave them a couple of good/cheap young signed players to finish off their roster. Yay, we are helping out the Avs? :dunno:

Can't wait to see the Drury long-term contract. :eyeroll:

do you honestly think he could have acquired anything that could have set anyone on fire for those two players?
No probably not, but some of us are just tired of new GM's coming in and kicking young guys to the curb while bringing in older players. Even some of us that are patient can only eat the same shit sandwich so many times before you get tired of it being served.

Oh great another identity line we can listen to Will and Mason slob over for the next 3-4 years!
Who cares what they have to say about anything? Why would that factor into your feelings at all. They'll fill the time with something inane, no matter who is or isn't on the roster

No, they’re not. But right now Haula, Stamkos and Marchessault are still on Preds roster. Still awaiting their names to pop up on the trade/signing announcements.

I don’t understand why it’s bad to have guys who are strong defensively and are hard on pucks. It’s the same identity the canes and panthers play to.
Thing is, you can just do good pro scouting and sign these players as UFAs when you need them.

You don't need to trade 2 recent 1st round picks to get them.

Or... you shouldn't need to do that anyway... unless your whole development systems sucks balls and all you can get out of 2 recent 1st round picks is a pretty decent 4th liner. Which isn't good either. :dunno:
