I don't think much of ZLH or especially Svechkov. But I also don't think much of 26 year old Drury and at least the other two are young. Kinda gross, but taking a shot on Drury with more icetime, I guess.

Im am less than enthused about this trade..
Drury isnt anything special and Bradley doesnt even produce at the AHL level.... Svechkov maybe becomes a Drury if we are lucky but ZLH has a higher ceiling than the rest of this mess.... dont mind sending svechkov but zlh is the thing that sticks here. Guess thats a 3C and a player for MIL

ZLH probably hasnt the highest potential of the group involved. He also has had injuries every year so maybe they are concerned about that long term. Atleast Drury is only 26 but it makes me wonder what their plan is down the center. RoR, Wood, Pinchuk, Drury

Drury is great at faceoffs and (analytically at least) elite defensively. Still don't love him, but most of the shine is gone from ZLH and Svechkov anyway. It's nothing to get upset over really, but I'd rather have kept the younger guys since the team stinks with or without Drury

I would have liked this more about 5 years ago when everyone still thought Drury was going to be something.

Hopefully Drury is a PK ace here, and wins a lot of faceoffs for us. He's going to have to be good to make this trade look sane down the road.

The shine is gone from yet more Preds youth not being put in a position to succeed, and we unload them on the cheap because they didn't score or produce getting 4th line ice time playing with scrubs.

Yeah, it really burned them in a huge way with Tomasino and Parsinnen. Those guys are lighting up the league, Poile was great at drafting forwards.

Svechkov and L'Hereux both needed to clear waivers starting this year so my guess is CMac didn't see them as worth gifting roster spots to and took what he could get. I'm going to go ahead and say that in three years time we'll look at this and see it as no real loss.

I wasn't keen on the Colton trade, but ok, it was just picks and we might arguably have been able to recoup at least one of them at the TDL.

But c'mon now. Drury is a definite lower-end bottom-6er, and while I'm not the least bit sold on Svechkov, and ZLH is still earning his wings, they still BOTH have more upside than Drury. I would not have traded EITHER ONE of them, let alone both, straight up for Drury. This is nonsense.

Bradley is just a contract dump to the Admirals. A 3rd round pick in 2029 is nothing. CMac, I know you love Joe Sakic and all, but... I mean, you don't have to prove that you do THIS much? We already knew?

So now CMac WILL sign more veteran UFAs, and honestly... I could let the Colton move slide, then VERY reluctantly let keeping Bruno slide... but if this next trade is indicative of his true mentality... he can F right off. There's a pretty sweet bandwagon rolling by in Raleigh right now...

Drury just turned 26, he should have a few years left in the tank of being a defensively strong 4C at minimum. MacFarland probably sees the two Preds as busts. They're 23 now, not old by any means, but not too far from Drury either.

Well, it will never end up being a "BIG" mistake. Svechkov seems to be pretty meh. ZLH might become a feisty abrasive 20/20 kind of guy. And I guess neither of those things turns a franchise from a pauper to a prince or anything.

But it still sucks. Particularly as an illumination of "mindset" and how that might translate down the road to other potentially bigger moves.
