Went for my boy Suzuki. There are no glaring flaws in his game. Solid player, pretty clutch.
But I certainly wouldn't mind having Thompson on the Habs. That would be an awesome 1-2 punch at center.

Agreed. Tage is a great player. His size and scoring make him a unicorn. And I certainly don't mean to call him one-dimensional. But Suzuki is great at everything. The definition of "complete" player.

I don't usually follow hockey players much before they hit the NHL. But I was a Suzuki fan since he was with the Guelph Storm in like 2018. I say the same thing now as I did then: There is no ceiling for this player. He will just keep improving.

The leadership factor with Suzuki should also count for something.

At their best, Tage is rare breed and as mentioned, something of a unicorn. But the variance in good Tage and bad Tage is much, much higher than Suzuki.

If I’m simply taking a guy to build a team with, I’ll go with Suzuki - I think the blend of 200’ skills and work rate is something I feel more comfortable standing on.

I wasn’t that high on Suzuki before as his 5v5 production was on the low side, but he’s improved that as the team’s improved and he passes the eye test. I think he’s better as a consistent all situations 1C. Thompson has improved his all around game but I think he’s a bit more of a unique wild card that can have bigger highs and lower lows. I’d take Suzuki to start a team but I think I’d take one of each rather than 2 Suzuki’s if I could.

Basically Tage has the higher ceilling, Suzuki has the higher floor

I voted for my boi Nick, for the sole fact that he's also more reliable IMO

Suzuki is the right choice here and this poll wouldn’t be near as close if he played for a different team
