Team needs at least one more (two is preferable) D-man who can make a solid first pass out of the zone.
Top six is fine with Lucic. One 30 goal and three 20 goal scorers with Gaborik possibly eclipsing 20 if he doesn't go down with the knee.
So while there isn't another Toffoli or Pearson (can easily debate the latter), there is NHL talent down there for the bottom six at Black Friday prices. Only way they stay competitive is for these kids to contribute because this team needs sub-$1MM contracts in a lot of spots.

I wanted him gone, but it sounds like he's willing to change things a bit on his end, which is encouraging. I honestly don't know who would be able to replace him. Just don't grind Quick and Doughty into the ground next year please...
Dean needs Darryl. Darryl as a former GM on top of being coach is someone Lombardi can and will actually listen to.
The grinding will continue for sure.

The only player I've sensed that with is Dustin Brown. I think he's the one responsible for the "garbage can" incident.
Additionally, I know this was fresh off of their 2012 Cup win, but having spoken to Dustin Penner that summer, I asked him about Sutter and he loved him, said he's an awesome coach. And you know how much Sutter was hard on Penner too, so to hear him say that tells a lot about the respect he has of his players.
My gut feeling on Brown is that he has had an angry edge to his personality, behaviour and performance this season that is coming from negativity (unhappy, bitter, frustrated) rather than from the usual positive (feistiness, strong willed, swagger). Maybe I'm way off base, but I think he needs (and may well feel so himself) a change of scenery as much as the Kings need cap space and better players.
Great news regarding Sutter. Like other fans, I think he and Lombardi have figured out the "reinvention" mode will be good for the team not just in the future, but starting next season too.
LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Kings and Head Coach Darryl Sutter have agreed to terms on a multi-year contract, Kings President and General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today. The contract begins in the upcoming 2016-17 campaign.
If anything, this is a net good because it keeps Sutter away from being poached by Anaheim -- yes, I know that was a LONG shot in any case, but I'm used to Loki having his mischievious way with my hockey fandom...
I have a hard time seeing Sutter go to a team that has an internal cap. That doesn't give you the best chance to win.

I mean, if he's only coaching for another handful of years, he could have done worse; they're loaded with prospects and assets on top of having a contending roster
It's a moot point now though
