TV: Survivor 48

My first reaction while watching the episode, to be honest, was very similar to your original comment. When they first cut to Joe I went "what the f*** is he looking at, is he trying to murder someone with a look?". It was only after they cut back to Eva and you could see he was looking at her did I realize oh he's trying to look out for her. And it made more sense. I won't comment on anything else, I wasn't trying to jump on any bandwagon there just trying to give my impression of what I took out of it. Which might be biased cause I read an interview with both Joe and Eva on the weekend after the fact and both kind of gave some more explanation on the moment and what it meant to both of them ('He is my superhero': Eva and Joe go deep in exclusive 'Survivor 48' joint interview)
Cool, and thanks.

If I made any error in the post I wrote that started the drama, it was not stating that like you, I soon realized exactly what Joe was doing. That's on me. I thought that was a bit of a given though. I thought most of you know me well enough to know that I do sometimes like to crack wise. Joe's a good guy, and to further beat a metaphotical horse to death, he's the kind of guy I'd share a foxhole with any time. Hell, I'd make room for Eva too. She may have bent, but she did not break. It was honestly one of the greatest moments in Survivor history in my opinion.

I want to apologize to shakes the clown. While I didn't much care for his comment about me being nonsensical, I think I went too far and my reply was out of proportion to what he said. He fired a shot at me and I responded by going nuclear. I should have laughed it off and explained myself rather than trying to score as many points as I could. Sorry, shakes.

This thread didn't need that and I'm sorry to all of you. I'm a very competitive guy and sometimes that gets the best of me.

No worries my man. We’ve all been there. I’m glad we have active threads here to discuss this show season after season, we won’t always agree and sing kumbaya.

Wasn’t trying to come at you with my jab either bud, sorry for piling on.

I feel like mergeatory episodes are usually among the weakest of each season. They always just go for the easy votes and pick off the outsiders. I feel like everyone saw the Charity boot coming before the episode even began.

Had to roll my eyes at the "honour and integrity" alliance that formed last episode. I have no problem with the physically strong players aligning, but it's so annoying that they act holier than thou. It was hilarious to see David preach about honesty and then later in the episode he lied to Charity about the Civa 6 sticking together and proceeded to vote her out (I know he technically voted for Sai, but that was a split vote). You can't really win Survivor with just honour and integrity. You have to lie at some point.

Sai is absolutely the best part of this season. I'm not rooting for her and there's no chance she's winning, but she's so entertaining. All the best parts of this episode were because of her:

-Appearing from nowhere and stealing the advantage from Charity
-The contrast between her and Mary's reactions to seeing each other
-Bragging to the losers about all the food from the reward
-The random Cedrek revenge vote

I hope she lasts at least a little bit longer because if we just have to deal with players preaching honour and integrity the rest of the way, we're probably in for a rough finish.

I love that Jeff immediately called David out when he talked about “honesty and integrity” since he hadn’t actually been to tribal yet. Everyone can be honest when you don’t have to vote anyone out yet lol

And Sai is fun to hate, I’ll give her that. Wish they’d cast real villains, but I guess annoying and unlikeable is as good as we’ll get .

Boring episode. I don’t see why they needed to get out Charity. Has no real allies. Seems like a wasted vote, but I guess that’s become a typical mergatory boot.

Eva is starting to get annoying.

The six players I’m eyeing as potential winners (ranked):

1. David
2. Kyle
3. Kamilla
4. Mitch
5. Shauhin
6. Joe

First three kind of in their own tier. Haven’t really had any major missteps yet. Mitch could be a threat, but seems to lack allies. Shauhin and Joe can do stuff, but it’s not clear to me if they’re actually any good at the game and both have had at least one major misstep so far.
