TV: Survivor 48

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Yep same here. The amount of screen time she's getting and her edit leads me to believe the same. So far she seems like a bit of a bulldozer where despite her madness she seems to just be able to roll over people and get them to do what she wants. Frustrating to watch, but if she makes it that far I wonder what her jury management would look like.
It is no mystery as to why.

For all of you hating on S48 here, go watch Australian Brains vs Brawn II. It's on YouTube now.
47 days
2 tribes
24 players
Actual interesting challenges
Lots of twists
Great gameplay
Some actual villainous moves

Or maybe don't. It will make you hate the "New Era" even more.
I am holding out faint hope that season 50 is going to bring a much needed paradigm shift.

Imagine making Boston Rob take a journey on a f***ing dice game and not only losing his vote, but someone else decides "Oh cool. Here's my chance to take him out. Nevermind some other person!" All because the intended target successfully played a SITD. They would literally never ***EVVVVAAAARRRRRR*** put him in that position. Journeys and SITD wouldn't even f***ing exist because it would pose too much of a danger. He'd lose a challenge, eat rice and Buddy System his way to another day on the island. They literally protected him so much he could be voted off TWICE just to do challenges tailor made for him in season 22.

At this point, every time production has an idea; they need to ask "Would we do this to Rob 15 years ago?" and if the answer is no, it's a bad idea

There are too many trust fund, college kids whose ideas are too great to revert back to the old era.

Also this is the second person who got voted out because they lost their vote with no choice of their own because of a stupid dice game. They had no option to keep their vote and had to just roll the stupid dice and Cedrek voted them both out, one for not telling them about not having a vote and the other for telling them they had it.

So stupid.

Survivor has made me cry a few times. The way Joe comforted Eva was powerful.

I normally hate the sappy stuff because of how much they overdo it but that was just great stuff.

Trying to ignore the fact of Jeff maybe fake crying to make it about himself and his daughters. Just f*** off man and let them have their moment. Didn’t buy that as genuine from him at all.

That was a nice moment for Eva. I know we were all pulling for her. Now she will be voted off.

Strategically, Eva revealing she has autism may not have been the smartest move. There's no way that sympathetic of a character is going to make it to the end.

What's with Joe and all the mean-mugging? He doesn't look like he cares for Eva. He looks like he wants to murder her.

Cedrek is one of the most level-head and analytical contestants I've ever seen. It's yet to be determined how good of a player he is though.

But in contrast to Cedrek there's Sai. She's immature below her years. It's been a while since I've disliked anyone as much as I dislike her.

I think there's a hook above each of Shauhin's ears holding his beard up.

Yeah, I think the new era is more cutthroat but I think Joe's only path at this point is people start to revere him like we have seen with JT and Tom Westman. They were the biggest threat for ages and people just loved them so much as people they let them stick around (plus both really comp'd out when needed). I honestly think with his threat level at this point if he manages to make it to the end and win, it will be one of the more impressive games we've ever seen.

As for Eva's reveal, I don't think she really had much of a choice, I'm sure what happened went on longer than shown in the edit, without the reveal their would have been a ton of questions. I was really happy to see Eva and Star start to bond and get along though.

Last scene I can think of this emotional was Jenna's quit in All Stars (and off the top of my head the only other time someone has crossed tribal lines to comfort another player when Amber asks if she can give Jenna a hug) or the Jay/Adam moment on the family visit in Millenials vs Gen X.

For competition reality in general, only other stuff that comes close to those of the top of my head is the stuff related to Diem Brown on The Challenge (such as her iconically taking off her wig to do a daily).

Is it possible this is the worst strategic season ever?

Because it’s off to an awful start. Maybe a few can recover, but there are really only a few who look to be salvageable in the “potential good player” category.

I can’t take anyone from the disaster tribe seriously. Cedrick is bad at the game and very unlikable. Sai is entertainment for how abrasive she is. No social awareness and very unlikable.

Joe and Shauhin are off to a tough start. They kind of got dooped bad on the Thomas vote. Played it naively.

Camilla, Kyle, Mitch, and David look like potential players. Maybe Joe and Shauhin can recover. I don’t think Charity is that bad either, but I don’t know if there’s winner potential there.

Usually there’s at least a few who are really standing out, but it seems like a few of the better players have went out early mostly because they got put in terrible positions.
