I'm surprised that Kadri is leading our team in scoring despite the little ice time he's gotten so far. Hint, play him more!

Scrivens looks pretty competent out there, I can't say I miss the Reimer-Impersonations -of-Gustavsson out there.

  • Ben Scrivens has started two in a row
  • Maple Leafs goaltending has .929 save percentage with a 1.59 gaa
  • Kadri is a goal a game
  • Nikolai Kulemin is tied for the team worst -2

What are yours?

Kadri looks dominant
Bozak looks terrific
KGM look really bad - Kulie ughhh
JVR new team - bad first impression - zero intensity.

Bozak has looked absolutely fantastic. Not surprised personally as I've always believed in him but I'm sure others are.

Oh - no even strength goals yet.

Cya Kulemin, it was nice knowing ya but its time for you to go away

lol at fans who pass judgement after two games on a guy with a -2.

Kulemin logged huge minutes and was out for two bad goals...yes lets get rid of him now.

Ofcourse his great numbers from KHL don't count for anything, he clearly lost all his skill and confidence... :arr:

Kostka's play/emergence.
Komisarek not readily noticeable.
Improved team structured play.

Phaneuf has looked great as well as bozak and kadri.
Liles can't seem to get anything going his way. Scribbles seems to be doing just fine

Komarov looks good so far - he's hitting hard and finishing all his checks.
Kadri has been in the right place at the right time several times.

JvR looks lost half the time, but I think he'll get his legs back soon.

Kostka has played well even though the nerves got to him at the end of last night's game - he fanned on like 4 shots lol including that assist on kadri's goal.

Kessel hasn't lost his legs (damn he skates fast).

Phaneuf not playing like a crazed maniac all over the ice getting caught behind the other teams net, running at players for a big hit creating odd man rushes, etc.

Other than the fact that he looks a little slow and out of shape I think he's finally getting some proper coaching.

Kostka looks great
Kadri is awesome, hope he keeps it up
Bozak impressive start
Scrivens shaky in first game, but better in home opener (hopefully starts vs pens)
Orr beating up scott

The bad (2 games though)
Kulemin is playing badly
Grabo is invisible
Jvr invisible but gets pass, new team and lockout

-Kadri is outstanding, Bozak on the dot is a monster
-Grabovski's line is lost
-Kostka's ice time
-Colton Orr playing

No its been 3 years and that 2nd line has done nothing and Kulemin has shown he doesnt want to play here. 2 games try 3 years and still no production. Time to switch that line up.

Grabo is a disappointment, and JVR, well, he pretty much is invisible. Kadri, well, is proving the haters wrong. Atta boy!

He had 15 minutes vs Buffalo

He was actually responsible for all 3 goals scored against us this season. Vs Montreal he never got the puck out, goal 1 last night he lost a puck battle off the faceoff and didn't cover his man, and on the 2nd goal he was soft on the puck and lost it at the blue-line which led to the 3-1.

FYI he was playing with Malkin, even Phil Dupuis would put up a PPG in the KHL with him.

Go support another team with that attitude. Ridiculous, he's been bad for 3 years? And the 2nd line hasn't done anything?Do you even watch the games? Clearly you don't , go check out his stats , maybe you expected him to be Kovalchuk but you need to maintain your expectations of the guy. You don't know how to count, sorry

There are just some people who should not watch sports

Suprises:
- How effective Komarov is as a third liner
- Colton Orr's overall skating and impact as a good 4th liner (including taking on a Scott last night)
- Not that Kadri has a couple goals, but rather how dangerous and effective he's been in his sheltered minutes .. Really impressive
- How steady Phaneuf looks in a defense oriented system
- The penalty kill looks very solid

Disappointments:
- JVR hasn't been as impactful has I want him to be, but the third period last night was promising
- KGM unable to get better scoring chances, they can't seem to get anything generated from the high scoring areas .. All 3 players individually are disappointing so far
- 0 goals from Lupul and Kessel in 2 games, though they're playing solid so far but the Leafs success hinges on them scoring

Edit - I'll also add that the 4th line of Orr - McClement - Brown has looked great too, cycling and checking the hell out of the opposition

The Good:

Kadri
Kostka
Phaneuf
Scrivens
Mcclement (PK)
Komorav
Fraser
Bozak
Komisarek (however always performs against the habs)

The Bad
Lupul
Kulemin
Grabovski
MacArthur
Holzer

Mike Kostka has to be an early pleasant surprise considering how much TOI/g he has received and been played against top regular NHL players and not sheltered as a 3rd pairing dman.

He has easily been better than 1/2 the Leafs dmen to date and why Komisarek and Fransen regular NHLers have been scratched before him.

Kessel no goals
Leafs no even strength goals
Only 3 goals against
Kostka. Seriously, where the **** did this guy come from? 27 minutes last night
