So what did you folks do in superstitious hopes that it would help secure another Kings cup?

I wore a Kings item every day of the playoff run with a black tee shirt and my black Kings jersey for watching the games.

But more importantly I had my wife wear her 2012 Kings SC champion tee to bed. She did break protocol and washed it after getting sick, that coincided with the Ducks going up on us. I told her how that was wrong and she has complied with wearing it untarnished since. :)

She is really happy the Kings won and even more happy never has to wear that shirt again. I did inform her that she will have a 2014 SC champion shirt for next year. :handclap:

GKG!

I stopped recording games.

I had noticed near the end of the season I was recording an awful lot of games the Kings were losing.

I recorded the first three games of the Sharks series which of course they lost all three and I didn't even bother watching.

So, I didn't record the 4th game, not for superstitious reasons, but because I figured why?

Since they won, I didn't record the next game. And the next. And the next. And the first two games against ANA also. Six in a row, six wins.

After ANA broke the string in game 3, I said ok now I can start recording again. Well, they lost so I stopped recording games again. And never did the rest of the playoff season.

Record when recording games: 0-4. Record not recording games: 16-6.

I said no more jinxes or superstitions after the 2012 win, but I guess one can never break horrible bad habits...what the hell. I'm only human.

I wore my Jonathan Quick Conn Smythe Winner t-shirt underneath my Jonathan Quick away jersey with the 2012 Stanley Cup Finals and 2012 Stanley Cup Champions patches and my LA Kings flat brim every game day, only washed them once after Game 3 in the San Jose series to try and rejuvenate the mojo.

I drank the same beer (Stone IPA India Pale Ale) for each game after we won our first game in the San Jose series while I was drinking it. I also sat in the same spot I had been in for the majority of the games (except when work got in the way, during which I would always listen to Nickson and Evans' call over the LA Kings Android app). Also, if I didn't have access to a TV channel to watch the game (haven't had access to anything but the most basic of cable for the majority of the playoffs), I watched the game on the same online feed (a Swedish feed that Matty Norstrom ended up doing commentary on during the Finals, talk about a good omen).

I also admit to making an overly confident comment on a different site during the Chicago series when we were up 3-1, so I permanently deleted my 2+ year account on said site before Game 7 to wash out that bad mojo.

Lastly, during the Finals, the cat was on the couch next to me when we scored the game winner in Game 2, so I kept the cat next to me on the couch as much as I could for the rest of the games. He was absent the entirety of Game 4, but was sitting next to me during the 2nd and 3rd goals of Game 5. I nearly scared him to death screaming when we won it.

Pretty standard stuff, right?

I had two rotating shirts. After a loss, the sin was washed from the shirt.
When we were down two, I would switch hats.

I had a torta every game with carnitas. Every non pregame Torta was pollo. When they weren't there. I went to el Cholo.

Before every road game, I would listen to Pia doing the National Anthem.

For the cup clinching game, I had Thai food, which I ate the day they won in 2012, and wore 2012 Championship gear

Besides same shirt, hat, pants.

I had a song playlist at work, would put it on random and would allow Chelsea Dagger to play as a sign we would win. Everytime it played we won. This last game against NYR, it played twice, and game went to double OT. I don't know man....

oh boy where to start on this one lol Well the main playoff one was my hat I have a purple kings hat i wear during games. Every pk i put it on back wards i had a mustashe, and a old style purple and forum gold shirt i wore on game day. Stop having supper before games lol Did all my house hold stuff *( taking care of my father so a lot of errands run before game time) fed him at 15 mins before game. I think that s most of them If i think of more ill add them in another post lol

I got strange. Even for me...

Had to do with the rally towel they handed out during game 4 verse San Jose (the doughty one) I clenched the towel all game and we won! So, I kept doing that for the rest of the playoffs. Never put it down. Even when I had to use the bathroom I just tucked into my pocket. But, then also whenever the opposing team would enter our zone I had to put the towel up to my face, covering my mouth and nose and leave it there until the Kings regain possession. I notice whenever I forget to do that the opposing team would score. By last night's game I was practically hiding behind the towel! :help:

The other one was just for the 1st round. Because I couldn't do it every game.... It was that I had to eat a quarter ponder w/ cheese, fries, and coke from McDonald's. I had it before 4 and we won. So, I did it again for game 5, we won, and so on and so forth.

I wouldn't watch the games, only the score tracker on NHL.com. I did not see a single win on the TV all playoffs. As long as I didn't watch the games, the Kings won.

Come to think of it, that may be why 2012 is more meaningful to me.

I thought I was the captain of the good ship crazyfan but it seems like we are all just passengers.

We were down 0-3 to the Sharks when one of my friends said "hey Guy, F the Kings" and I said "Yep, F the Kings". We won that game and the next 3. Before every game I would call them and say "F the Kings" and we won. So I did this every game the rest of the playoffs. I know it is pure crazy to think it had any effect but I couldn't help myself.

It almost worked perfectly during the finals.

I changed my avatar after every loss. I changed my title the same way. I went for long walks during the 1st period of every game (I would be on walks either before or during the 1st period) or almost so.

I have a Kings game puck from 1978 that I kept in my pocket the entire playoffs.

There were others but those were some of the bigger ones.

You all know that .gif I post on the PGTs after every playoff win. (Maybe not every one of them, usually because I can't get to a computer to post it) but I started posting it during 2012 playoffs and i've been posting it ever since.

I had an annual bet placed in Vegas of $100 for the Kings to win the Cup starting from the beginning of the 2003 season. The only years since then that I didn't make that annual bet were in 2011 and in 2013, so I'm never betting on the Kings again.

I also wore a Kings jersey to work for Games 1-3 of Round 1 (I work in Silicon Valley, which is a sea of Sharks fans, so this was a matter of team pride). For Game 4, I said, damn, this isn't working, and didn't wear a Kings jersey. Haven't donned any Kings paraphernalia of any kind until I put on my Kings cap today.

He looks familiar, but I can't put a name to the face. Who is it?

By the way, I love seeing it every time. :)

I changed to this current avatar when the team was in that horrific late January/early February slump, and then the Kings won 14 of their next 17. No playoff avatar for me, I sported this all the way to the cup!! Kings boring hockey for life!!! :yo:

These made me laugh lol...hey good for you guys, seriously, sharks fan here coming in peace...just wanted to say congratulations on a helluva season for you guys and gals...keep up the superstitions! Whatever it takes... I have a few of my own but obviously they need some major tweaking!

Wore my lucky pants...Alot of losses came when was out for a longer them expected and couldn't put them on.. All wins I had them for at least part of the game.. I know I'm crazy
