Colorado aren't really playing like contenders this year. They're average at best unless they can get healthy and catch fire. Boston is freakishly good everywhere else to the point where their 2C doesn't really matter.
Since Tampa is our opponent in round 1, that's the matchup that really matters and they appear much deeper at forward which is a big reason they won last year. It's not a lost cause or anything, but the Leafs need to add a strong forward at the deadline
Yeah that’s fair but the only time teams tend to have a back-up top-6 C stashed away on wing or 3C is for a few months after the deadline, only reason Tampa has Paul longterm is spending 2 deadlines worth of assets for a cheap Hagel and spreading Paul’s money over 8 years. I don’t see any reason we won’t stack up well after the deadline.
