Speculation: Summer Trade Candidates

Just in a hypothetical scenario that won't likely happen. We somehow sign Marner, all of a sudden I would be open to a Barzal trade. Getting a bunch of young cheap assets would help alot if we could replace Barzal with somebody who can contribute most likely more points to our team
If Barzal was to go for futures, I want a prospect in return on the Calum Ritchie level coming back. That’s another top 25 prospect in the system putting this teams future on the right track. Ultimately trading him for a quantity return is a lowball deal in most cases unless we’re talking 2025 and 2026 1sts plus with the 2026 being unprotected,

teams who need a big body winger like dakota joshua. i think could be moved for help on offense or included in a package deal.

None of these players will likely be dealt. Especially Pinto. And Zub/Jensen would only be dealt in the case of an upgrade at RHD, which seems wildly unlikely.
Not a big fan of trading Pinto or Zub but if this previously mentioned trade scenario was possible:

I do think that you would have to seriously consider this type of deal.

From the Canucks, in order of likelihood imo: Garland, Chytil, Joshua, Myers, Hoglander, Demko.

Can Pinto actually play the 2C role or is he a 3C? If he can be a halfway decent 2C and give the Islanders a buffer for Ritchie to get a year or 2 as a 3C to learn it’s worth considering for the Islanders.

Since Pinto has been in Ottawa, they have had Stutzle/Norris & now Stutzle/Cozens playing 1C & 2C in front of Pinto. In 2022-23, when Norris went down for the season with a shoulder injury, a Pinto basically assumed the 2C position behind Stutzle and did fine.

In this year's playoffs, he played more minutes than any other Sens forward, aside from Stutzle, and did a good job as the shut down centre against Matthews.

He is just 24y/o, he plays a very solid 200-ft game, has size at 6' 3" and doesn't mind the physical side of the game, good on the PK. He does not see much PP and this has affected his point totals.

Most Sens fans believe he can be a solid 2C, with some thinking that he could even potentially develop into 1C. As a fan base, we don't want to see Pinto traded but if things continue as they are behind Stutzle & Cozens, he (and his agent) might feel that he is better elsewhere and he has just one year left on his current RFA contract and his agent is a tough negotiator. On the Sens side, Ridly Greig is currently playing on the wing but could potentially be a very solid 3C for us. With Jensen's injury/surgery and Zub's injury issues, we have a short and long-term need at top-4 RD. This has all led to this current speculation.

All this to say, yes, Pinto can play 2C.

Fine by me. Just didn’t want another 3C who can’t really play up in the lineup but is forced to aka Mittelstadt.
