Is Pietrangelo LTIRetiring? Or do they think they can trade him for nothing somewhere that he'd go because that's only how we can get any of these players we're linked with.

Eichel, Stone, Theodore, Karlsson, Hanifin and Hill aren't going anywhere and no one else makes enough money. And we need some for Korczak and Dorofeyev next season.

Marner would mean Eichel, Stone or Pietrangelo level cap hit needs to go, Bennett maybe you could squeeze if they traded Barbashev and they thought they could replace cheaper with a Hague trade, who is gone no matter what.

CJ thinks Vegas may be more into Sam Bennett than Mitch Marner

Bennett fits what we need better and cheaper, but I believe he said he would only consider two Eastern teams -Toronto and Florida. Also, he's in a low tax state on a Cup contender team, so he certainly wouldn't take a discount to come to VGK.

If we're looking for a big star, they need to take a discount or else we'll have to dump guys like Barbashev, Roy, Whitecloud and resign Smith or Saad. We need tweaks, not blow it up.

The above doesn't count IF we can dump Pietrangelo's contract and slot in Korczak.

I don't want to move on from him at all. Not really sure why other people do. He was clearly playing injured in the playoffs and IMO was the Knights best dman.

Friedman said in 32 Thoughts Petro may not even play next year due to injury. So that may be how we make a big splash in free agency.

I don't want to see him off the team, I think he is a playoff performer and if he can play healthy I'd like him to play his contract, it's just Marner or Bennett are unrealistic unless him or Stone are LTIR.

Saying the only way we could afford a big contract is to get out from another big contract isn't saying I want Pietrangelo gone, I would prefer him here. It's the math that I'm seeing that says they need one of the top three contracts out to afford the big names some people are saying Vegas is a favorite to acquire.

It's possible with Barbashev replaced by Bennett if Bennett doesn't make too much and with cheap signings for a second line winger, fourth line winger and extra forwards but that seems sort of counter productive.

A top 6 wing that makes less than Barbashev. There really isn't any point in moving Barbashev to get worse at the position.

If the Petro news is legit they probably don't move any forwards.
