Sudbury Wolves 2024-25 Season Thread, Part IV

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Hoping if he does come back he won’t be a target, Street has to step up if that is the case, only reason I can see why he is still here. They have to play tough disciplined hockey and stay out of the box. Must come away with a split in Kingston to gain momentum I would think.
I’ve seen him be the target quite a few times these last couple weeks, so I’m sure that won’t change in the playoffs. Street definitely needs to step up if that’s the case. Only thing is will they chicken out when it’s time to answer the bell? I was at Yesterdays game and I seen number 15 on Kingston running amok on the ice wanting to go with everyone, but when Street asked him to go he didn’t want too. I’ve seen that a happen a few times this season with guys not wanting to go with Street. I think they should have Villeneuve on Musty’s line so at least there’s a line mate who can stick up for him when he’s on the ice. Especially when he’s coming off an injury.

This team has 0 chemistry, get the healthy players into the lineup and try to find chemistry/momentum before the playoffs start. Having a bunch of players go in cold after sitting in the stands and resting for the better part of 2 weeks does not seem like a great idea.
Burn out an injury is what I said would happen if you overplay the players during the regular season, and here we are.

Debating if I want to go to Kingston for game 1. Realistically, the only game I can make with my schedule, other than the games in Sudbury. I haven't been to Slush Puppie Place and this is an excuse to check that arena off my list. 5-hour drive from North Bay seems like a lot though. Anyone wanna drive up from Sudbury to North Bay and carpool with me?

Lots of questions ahead of game#1 against K-Town. Will any new guys find themselves in the line-up as starters or are they nice depth pieces? Is Roberts better paired with Ewles or Blonda? Who starts in net? Is Clayton possibly back?
If Musty is back, we have the fire power to score but can we commit to defending our zone? Can we remain disciplined?
Gonna be a fun ride. Let’s go Wolfers..

At this moment the team is very fragile going into the playoffs, I'm not optimistic on our chances I see a short series with Kingston.

I like that the Wolves have put themselves in a position to rest those players that have minor nagging injuries and taking the load management approach at this point can’t hurt. In addition, with this approach we got to see what the kids can do. The “Marshall” has rebounded and stepped up nicely this last month which is both exciting and comforting.
I guess I take the optimistic approach and then deal with reality when it happens.

always good to be an optimist. In reality without a 100 percent Musty, no Delic, Clayton? it will be quite the challenge. The secondary scoring is limited on this team, they will have to play a very discipline defensive game and take advantage of their opportunities. If everyone steps up on in their play anything is possible but don't see it.

“So you say there’s a chance”

Wolves lineup today, doing everything they can to ensure North Bay gets the final playoff spot.

Walton - Di Giantomaso - Molnar
Henderson - Zilliotto - Coughlan
Najda - Dean - Street
McCharles - Street

O'Dell - Mews
Kearns - Blonda
Roberts - Ewles
Connors(Had no idea he was now with the team)

Marshall
Krawchuk

Out of the lineup/resting/injured, Delic, McCoy, Pharand, Clayton, Musty, Villeneuve, Chitaoni, DeAngelis

From buyer at the deadline to "I guess there's a chance". Truly the Sudbury Wolves experience.

I think we had a chance prior to trade deadline, we were at par in the standings with teams in the conference. However, Papineau adds at the deadline were a total miss, with the right adds, this team would be sitting ok going to the playoffs.

Well we get to watch the final game of the year while listening to the only commentary duo on the same level of incompetence of the the Wolves.

Kenton Musty out of the lineup today folks!

Really looking forward to seeing what Njada can do today. Maybe he can worm his way into the playoff lineup.

If Marshall has a stellar game tonight I think you let him roll that into Game #1 against Kingston.

I know the end goal is to win the memorial cup but I am just happy the Wolves are in the playoffs. Sudbury fans always show up for the playoffs and being in that arena is a very fun time when it's packed. Going to a local bar to watch the game in a few here.

Enjoy the weekend everyone!

I suspect with Marashall getting this start it's already decided that Krawchuk will get the start for the playoffs

Doucett is the guy I'm hopping draws into the playoff lineup, His physicality is much needed.
