Sudbury Wolves 2024-25 Season Thread, Part IV

Interested to see how Najda plays, committed to Yale for 27-28, one of the guys who could be on the team next year for the Wolves. If I recall, I don't think he was even at training camp/rookie camp? I could be mistaken there though.

Any idea when the playoffs would start? I take it the wolves first game might be a week from Friday with our first home game being on a Monday or Wednesday. I think they should take blindside hits out of the game altogether.

He was at camp but may have left early! Big boy

Out, he's week to week, they have called up McCharles and another 16 year old for tonight.

With Musty week to week and playoffs next week he likely to miss some of the games.
So was Marantette from Peterborough given a 3 game suspension. If so would this not be enough for a player that has had previous suspensions this year.

He gor three games yeah and that's his season because that's what Peterborough has left and they didn't make the playoffs.

Have not heard that I heard week to week.
Heard tonight his surgery is scheduled same as Delic however can you get cleared to play if you are scheduled for surgery and in the case of Musty would he want to take that chance? Talking to Dario he still thinks Delic will be back so what do you believe.

Great game even though we lost. Chucky is getting back into his groove and playing lights out. If only the rest of the players would help him out.

If we don't get some of our top players back for the playoffs we won't even see game 5.

I really liked that new guy, #47. I forget his name though. Got a goal in his first-ever OHL game. Hope he sticks around.

Not surprising really a couple years back when Moxam took over the cubs the relationship went bad. That's why we dealt with Espanola for a couple of years
I don’t think D.Moxam was/is the problem. Ever since Dario bought the team from MB there has always been a sense of resentment and bitterness. When MB took over Rayside team it seemed to be used as a vehicle to take extra jabs at Dario and Wolves. Instead of working in harmony they were making hockey life difficult on each other.

For some reason, I thought you could only call up players at this time of year once their seasons were done.
Depends on the card they are on. B cards can only be called up 9 or 10 times a season until their teams season is over. They is a small grace period at the start of the year as well that doesn't count towards those games.

There is also a limit on the number of cards a team can have. Traded players also count towards your cards I believe (ie Jackson still counts as one of our cards).

You can call players up anytime in theory but the team has to agree to it, especially if they have games the same day. Now that the NOJHL is in their playoffs, the teams aren't going to let someone get called up and potentially be injured to hurt their own playoff runs

I really don’t think call ups from the Cubs are going to make any big difference on the score sheet or in net. My concern is this is a squabble between RinP and Moxie and the Cub management instigated by Papineau making a statement. Both leagues are supposed to be development leagues has he forgotten this holding the players at ransom?
