Was looking at the standings and schedule and while the possibility was there i figured it was a long shot but North Bay is 6 points back of us. While we have 1 game in hand our schedule is more difficult. Of our last 12 games 1 is against North Bay, and 1 against Niagara. North Bay in their last 11 have us obviously, 2 against Ottawa and 2 against Niagara.

March will be a gauntlet, 3 vs Oshawa, 2 vs Brampton and 1 each vs Barrie and Brantford.

Oh and the Sudbury/North Bay game is the final game of the season in North Bay.

Don’t see it really any benefit to finish higher than seventh, eighth would be better, you are just picking your poison as we are not getting out of the first round. I would rather see us get an earlier draft pick like Chitaroni if he is still around.

Wonder if they go import goalie then. No way is Marshall ready yet for full time action but if he either had another goalie to split the games with by trade or drafting an import that would go a long way. Still only 18 so you’ll have him for next year and year after potentially (unless he jumps like krawchuck)

If I’m the wolves regardless of what they do for goaltending next year I’m definitely drafting one of the top goalies in this draft in the first 3 or 4 rounds and maybe they hop in as a 17 year old backing up Marshall in 2026-27
I would suggest picking a top end goalie with the second pick in 2nd round in next priority draft…

As well both Slovak imports need to report, Wolves need to draft a top end forward with the first round pick and the next best player available with the second pick. Then a goalie with their 3rd pick in the second round as you indicated. After that they need to draft heavier players, players with jam and who play with purpose. As well we need players with 6'1 frame or taller. Too many smallish players has hammered this team or players who have size but don't hit or use their frame especially in the later half of the season and playoffs.

Scouting and selecting of players in the mid rounds needs to improve. We must find some diamonds in the rough. The sign of good scouting is being able to find players mid and late rounds who become impactful players to a team. That's how depth is developed. Anyone can pick out of the top 3 rounds. Scouting has to improve and I believe this has to be addressed moreover than our GM.

I believe the St. Andrews season finishes soon. Would love to see the wolves get some ice time for Finn Kearns some ice time before the end of the season. Not much to play for until the playoffs anyways, may as well see what the young guys have.

Like 2022? (If) there are goalies worthy of a second round selection, use the wolves’ pick rather than risk the best being selected prior to the Kingston pick around #38-40.
