I think there is a better chance of the wolves meeting Brantford, Niagara, or Oshawa than Barrie or Kingston.
If the wolves had any intention of trading Musty it should have been at the time of his request. I don’t think the wolves were ever really considering a reasonable offer for Musty though.
Once Schaefer was injured, there was really only Flint and Kingston as deadline suitors for McCue, Musty, Pinelli, and Willis. There is no way Papineau was accepting picks only, or make as reasonable of a deal with Flint as Owen Sound did.

With Mews, Villeneuve, & Walton the wolves will be among a handful of very competitive eastern conference teams again next season.
As good as those 3 can be, we won't have the assets to buy anything and with a goaltending duo of Marshall and Chartier we won't be able to improve that.

Walton - Villy - Pharand(Unless Signed)
Clayton - Chitironi - Coughlan
Henderson - Doucet - Dean
Walker (If ready)

Mews - O'Dell
Blonda - Roberts/Ewels
Smith - Wreggit
Bruce

Marshall
Chartier.

For trading assets, whoever is our 1st rnder, a 2026 2nd, a 2027 3rd and our 2029 draft picks. Don't see that being near enough to improve our roster

Just don't see enough in that roster and not enough assets to fix that.

I see Walton being traded this summer and Villy and Mews at deadline. should bring back 1 or 2 09s and picks. We have our 2025 1st rounder, do we have 2 2nd round picks as well?

Can only move the 1st rnd pick from the up coming draft. The only 2024 draft player we could move would have been Blonda so we moved Jackson a 2023 2nd.

For 2nds next season we have the 2026 we get back from the Hage deal and then nothing until 2029, for 3rds just the 2027 then nothing until 2029. RP cleaned out the draft pick cupboards.

Today’s Lineups! Clayton draws back in!

Walton(22) - Delic(13) - Pharand(21)
Musty(27) - Villeneuve(89) - Molnar(96)
Henderson(77) - Ziliotto(16) - Coughlan(9)
Chitaroni(91) - Clayton(24) - Di Giantommaso(92)

DeAngelis(95) - McCoy(19)
Roberts(12) - Mews(88)
O’Dell(4) - Blonda(93)

Krawchuk(30)
Marshall(31)
Great news on Clayton, last couple of games showed how important he is to this team.

Getting a rounds of playoff money and then going home is going to be the status quo going forward

Offside, offside, icing, offside, icing, does this team practice? Jesus christ. Making two passes in a row is a struggle.

IMO that would be very smart by Paps if he did this. Give the youth on the team a little bit of playoff experience and trade off the 3 big pillars of the team next year getting some youth and a boatload++++ of picks to build around guys like Blonda, Chitaroni etc when they’re older. This will give guys like Blonda, Chitaroni and whoever else more time to get comfortable in the league which is very important with younger players.

Bottom line next year they’re kind of in the same situation where they will either need to sell or buy- not stand pat. If they don’t add they may not be strong enough and if they sell there’s no point in just selling 1 of those valuable assets. Walton, Mews and Walton will definitely NOT be around as 20 year olds (in 2026/27) which was very obvious with Goyette this year and will be the same for Musty next year.

The good news for the Wolves is they're playing themselves into contention to being able to draft Brock Chitaroni after all. Love it when a plan comes together. This was Papineau's true goal at the deadline.

If only anyone could have predicted the Wolves record at the deadline was fraudulent based on how easy their schedule was in the first half.

Right if only anyone looked and said we barely played the true contenders maybe we should take a step back

As long as season tickets are at the level they are, Dario won't give a f***, his passion is not in hockey.
I disagree with that statement I think he cares, but doesn't know hockey much, but Papineau time will be up soon I believe.

I had to leave after 2 periods. Painful to watch. Too many disinterested players. Rookies were skating hard every shift that I watched.

If he cared Papineau would have been gone a long time ago.

Mews trade feels like a complete bust, only playing PP2, terrible 5 on 5, stupid penalties constantly. Maybe they'd be better if he was off to NCAA next season after all.

I agree, seems to loyal to Papineau for some reason, I can't see him much longer, season ticket holders have to send the message clear to get new manager. The trades have made team worse so far, I thought a lot of picks for Mews, and we have been fleeced by Brantford, two years in a row.
