So with another trade deadline come and gone, how did our GM do?
Some want to run him out of town, while others like his work.
Is this deadline better than last years?
What did you like or dislike?
Let’s hear your thoughts…
Nothing matters until we see the results. Another first or second round exit? An F. Make it past that, it's a success.

I also thought of the Clayton, Henderson, Coughlan as a checking energy line, but the key is going to be what we actually have in Zillioto and where we play him rw/c.

Perhaps a bit too hopeful, my initial thought was;
Walton-Delic-Pharrand
Musty-Villnueve-Ziliotto
Molnar-Chitaroni-Coughlan
Henderson-Clayton

Couple of items... we didn't sell the farm, and I think Finn Marshall can play and although green should not be overlooked, but adding Karsen Chartier was a cheap 'back up' plan.

It will be interesting to see this weekend's results but only as a yardstick. A winning or losing result doesn't concern me as much as in the past, because I do like our chances against any team in a 7 game series.

Just sayin'

Better than a sell followed by a sell imo, but I believe there were possibilities to improve the wolves chances. I think it’s going to be a while before we see a collection of size and talent combination like this again. Coughlan and Villenueve play bigger than 6’, and I think Molnar makes an honest effort.

Another must-read for any Wolves fan. So many little pieces of info highlighting the kind of players Sudbury is bringing in. Lots of great quotes from Mews, Roberts, and Coach Barney.

Can't wait to see how they play on the road this week!

What a complete 180 from last season that I don't think anyone on these boards expected at the end of last year's playoffs.

So glad to hear Musty is buying into what the Wolves are building in 2024. Things were rocky at the start of the year but I believe him when he says he wants to be here.

Can't wait for that deep playoff run 😁

A few quotes stand out from that article.

Musty
“Last year, our roster on paper, no offence to these guys, had a lot of veterans and a lot of high-end, proven players, but we just didn’t play the right way,” Musty said. “That has changed a lot this year and it’s exciting to see the young kids come up and buy into everything and even the older guys. This is our fourth coach in my four years of being here, but just being able to adapt, it’s really fun to see how it has been working for us.

“They’re very system-oriented. My goal, as well as everyone here, is to play in the National Hockey League, and they’re all about the details, about playing the right way, and it has been great to have them.

Barney
“It’s obviously good to have Quentin in your lineup,” Barney said. “If not the best, he’s one of the best players in this league and for me, it wasn’t his points in the last game, but the way he worked 200 feet of the ice. When he works that way, he’s going to be a hard guy to play against. He was moving his feet, he was tracking back, he wasn’t extending his shifts and that’s the way he needs to play to play at the next level.
