He should have been ready to deal Dec 29th when options are there, the longer he waits those options close. With the Barrie and Oshawa deals this eliminates other teams wanting to go all in thus there trading pieces decrease. Who is left in the east that can compete against them now. With London, Kitchener and Windsor the big threats in the west these are his most likely trading partners and they are in the drivers seat when it comes to value on returns. His history of over-valuating his players could come back to haunt him and most importantly the organization once again. Looks like we will be keeping Musty, possibly our over age players to boot. If this happens does nothing to improve our team going forward. Just hoping it is not to late to get a decent return for these players.

Would be surprised if any big trade occurs for us now.I know we are a team most would prefer to avoid. Is Paps waiting? I doubt he was but you never know what is happening in the background. Does mgmt want to screw the fans? Absolutely not. It's about money and winning brings more games and more money... not less. I hope we add a few younger players for picks too. We will see. But gotta admit I think that was a King's ransom for Gibson... Just wow.

If you believe that is a Kings ransom how light they were on pics then God only knows what you would be happy with for Musty

This was not a kings ransom. Some believe the Hounds got much less than they should have. Oshawa held on to some 2nd and 3rds. Once Griffin used his No Trade Card, GM Raftis may have had to settle for as many picks as possible and chose quantity over quality.

Review past deadlines, a 16 yr old 1st pick plus 2,3,4,4,4,6,6,7 is a King’s ransom for one player. The hounds were very fortunate there is a shortage of difference making defencemen made available this year. The market does not need to be reset every year.
There is no real shortage of LW, so temper expected return for Musty.

You would think a GM would have made moves knowing we have games Wednesday,Friday and Sunday if he was tweaking the lineup. Just a thought.

I think Soo fans are a bit delusional as to the value they were expecting for Gibson. They got an incredible return for a great shutdown d-man who has shown limited offensive upside this year.

Soo fan here.

I agree. I thought the return was solid. No other 08d on the table really. We got 8 picks and a promising rookie. The 08 is huge because of how bad the draft was.

I'm sure other soo fans will get over it as Smith turns into the player he was drafted to be. On draft day a lot fo folks considered him quite the steal and to be a future elite goal scorer.

Worst case scenario is the Wolves do nothing. Half-in half-out
I'm wrong. Worst case scenario is whatever Kingston just did. If Saginaw got value like this for Willis, hay and Bishop. You cannot convince me there was no fair offers for Musty.

You have a player who has 20 points in 11 games...impressive
You have a player who doesnt report after nhl camp
You have a player who demands a trade and "apparently" only wants to go to certain markets.
You have a player who screams and swears at his coach...heard it myself but I would have told McKenzie to f off as well.
You have a player who is recovering from a broken hand/wrist and still isnt back
You have a player that no one knows what kind of condition he is in to play hockey.
You have a player who obviously has an attitude
As an opposing GM how much would you offer to get him on your team
