So you are ok with Blonda, Chitironi and 3x 2nd and 3x 3rds for 1 player? That's half our high-end value assets for 1 player and you still have other holes to fill. Leaves you with Jackson and Clayton if someone likes him, plus 4x 2nds and 2x 3rds

If that is the price, Oshawa would need to go Griffin, Wang, 2(2,3) & 4(4). I would be pleased to see the gens cough that up for a defenseman.

I would be ok with a chance to win one championship over 50 years. I would be ok with a sell as well if Papineau is never being heard of again.

I assume the Wolves. need to beat some of those teams, Barrie, Niagara nd Oshawa in particular if you want to do anything in the playoffs. If they decide to be buyers, they have to "buy" enough to be better then those teams.
Agreed. My point is the playing field changes after the deadline. Some teams will/should be better others weaker on Jan.11th.
Injuries happen.
It’s a crap shoot really. We’ve had musty for less than a third of our games played this far, would he have moved the needle forward with more wins against those teams? Maybe?
Sorry for such a blunt response to your original post, but the real season starts after the deadline..

Some *picks cannot yet be used. Brampton for example; has 5-1-1 because Valentini has not yet played for Kitchener.

Soo fan here.. Just weighing in. Considering how hesitant our GM is with taking hometown players, there's very little chance he makes a trade for Blonda/Chitaroni. Has bitten us in the butt a few times, (Matier, Doucette). Gibson to Oshawa makes the most sense right now, but that could change in the coming days, who knows...

Great win last night and a big weekend ahead with 2 very winnable games. With the games in hand, 4 pts would put us right up near the top of the division. Hopefully the boys come out strong and don't take them for granted (definitely would have worried about this last year, but not as much this year lol). GWG!

Well there goes Blonda, Jackson, Chitironi, plus and maybe Marshall. Any 07 is up for grabs. But hey maybe we win a couple round 1 games.

Don't get me wrong I will support and cheer on the players, but the path just isn't there for this season. Need too many teams to crumble in my eyes.

I'm so confused by many posters in this thread. Some of the same posters who spent the last 3 years complaining Musty was a net negative, and now saying he's the key to this being a championship caliber team.

Regardless, if he's staying and the wolves are buying, they need to add 2 d-men and a high end forward at the minimum.

Like Kingston, there is no other near contending year for the wolves. There could also be a lot eastern conference teams ready to go again in 2028 when the wolves could be loaded after selling this year and next year, or just next year.

You know when our new arena is going to open and we could get ahead of other teams if we started now and be ahead of everyone else

As I have said the Wolves can beat anyone especially if they add a couple of pieces. This coaching staff and how hard these players play you have to give this group a chance by having a soft buy. There are some solid guys out there that don't get much fanfare that would make a difference.

WJ
And again....imagine this coaching staff with last year's lineup!

Wow! I am so impressed with Chucky. 40 saves on 41 shots! The guy is playing lights out.
The Goalie coaches have really helped him become consistent.

Not a bad result at all! We stole 5 of the available 6 points in the 3 games since Christmas break. Go Wolves!
Now we need to get Marshall going, or find a number two.

I think so; 2028-29 season. A 4+ year re-tooling period would be unnecessarily long. As long as the wolves retain a near full 2025 draft board, a rebuild should be easy enough. The team does have ‘26 - 2, 4 picks in care of Kitchener.
