Musty or not I'd sell sell sell. Has anyone looked at our schedule for the remainder of the season? By my count we have 22 games of 33 against likely buyers at the deadline.

We have lots of picks and Saggy has none: Could we good trade partners?
Well they are in a slightly better position than us, 5th in conference but 2nd in division, we are 5th in conference and 3rd in division.

We have Brampton and Brantford hot on our tails. They have equal if not better assets than us and with the players already there it would be more inviting to players with NTCs.

While Saginaw may decide to sell, I doubt it they just won the mem cup and have the majority of that d and their goalie still there.

If they buy and we sell, how can that work out for both teams?

Well just looking over their roster.

For OAs they have G Oke as their #1, Mangnone who is top 5 on their team in scoring with 14 goals and 20 assits for 34 points, and Forgione with 12 points same as McCoy. So I don't see them wanting one of our OAs.

They have Misa up front, like you said no picks so wouldn't be trying to take Musty, Walton or Villy from us. Only thing I think they would buy from us is Coughlan or maybe Pharand for forward depth, would be like our McCoy deal last season move a pick maybe 2 or maybe one of Jones (07, LD 9 points), Cloutier (07, RW 20 points) or Zhilkin (1st rd 08, RW 12 points). Wouldn't be a giant buy by any means.

All that said if they sell something might be a Misa to Brampton for a big package so he can play with his brother.

If Saginaw decides on a soft sell, there will be teams interested in Hay.

We should be one of them…
OK... who are you putting him in for Street or Dean? Chitironi and Clayton are 07s and putting up about equal points. Digi as same stats and is same age as Hay. So Digi straight up for Hay? Same points Hay is slightly worse at a -17 on the year?

A team trading for Hay would be looking for a defensive L3 centre strong in face-offs that should also return for an OA season

As a 3C it could work moving Chitironi to the wing at 49.5 he is the only player with over 200 attempts we have that is below 50% at. But as an OA i don't see him back atleast not with us. Coughlan, Pharand and Kwachuck are front runners right now and Ewels if we don't find another 19 year old dman before deadline would be an option as well.

Hopefully our GM agrees with you however, I still expect him not to move Musty.
In order to move Musty you need worthy offers…those offers didn’t appear to come during the player imposed hold out. Who’s to say they will come prior to the trade deadline?
IMHO this will determine what direction our team takes. One thing I believe is that Musty will not be traded for anything under his value.

Well as was said at about 12:45 into the ohl podcast the going rate even for a rental OA is a player plus 2x 2nd rd picks. With pinelli reportedly going from Ottawa in a package that includes Vaughan. Have to think the offers will get there.

Omg. This team is nowhere near contending. You have to sell Musty and the OAs and build for the future. You go for it now and we will be shit for years… after at best another trip to the second round.
The good news is with Papineau, they can rebuild now, and still be shit for the next 4 years!
