Can somebody describe Walton's game to me? Jets fan who hasn't had a chance to watch him, his production is very impressive as a 6th round pick.
In short, can be an explosive winger with a decent shot and release but sometimes lacks the effort and fails to utilize his size to his advantage when driving to the net. I'm mostly a TV watcher so I miss a lot of what's happening outside the camera's POV. I'm sure others will have a more poignant description.

Thanks! Yeah from what I've read his size doesn't really come through in his game. Seems like he has decent skating and hands though, will be interesting to see how he develops if he can figure out how to utilize his size more.

I believe he was a 4th Rd pic for the wolves. Has to bring more to the table imo to be signed by the jets. Perimeter player, not much of a physical style to his game, soft in his own end. When given space he can be effective but he'd have to raise his game substantially imo to get a contract.

To clarify, he was a 6th round pick for the Jets.

Appreciate your input, like I said I haven't watched much of him but I can't think of a player that has had his level of D+1 production that wasn't signed by the team that drafted them. Not to say he's a slam dunk to make it at all, but if he keeps producing like this then it's a no-brainer for the Jets to sign him and try to work through the warts. They've signed a lot worse out of juniors 😅

not much of a reply but the other poster said he's a 4th round pick of the Wolves. He's still a 6th round pick of the Jets.

Are you suggesting the coach sits him?
First off, I’ve gone on record and have disclosed my love for Villy and the way he plays the game. The Wolves are very lucky to have him; however, IMO the last 2 fights were needless. This coaching staff can’t be too happy…tonight’s trade off(Allan) was a bit better than in NB (Moses), but we need him on the ice. Now he is at his max with 3 fights. Teams will target him and he will need to be very careful…
Coaches preach accountability, so I’m not saying they will but if they did it wouldn’t surprise me..

Highly unlikely that happens.

But the rest of your post is correct.

good solid game. Walton was impressive tonight played very well, I thought I saw somewhere that the Jets are going to sign him for a 3 year entry level contract.

Krawchuck let a bad goal, but made some Hugh saves in the 3 rd period, he was solid.

Any news on Finn Marshall?

Looked from my viewpoint musty looked a little frustrated with linemates and a tad disinterested due to this.
I 100% agree. Poor body language all game, showed frustration and had little interest playing defence. Constantly blew our zone early and was last forward out of OZone on back check. He wasn’t happy with Delic when he never even looked at him on a 2-1.
Still ended the night with 3pts, but he’s gotta get dialled back in.

Walton was a 2nd round pick for Wolves during priority selection. His twin brother Connor was a 4th rounder and subsequently traded to Windsor in the DeAngelis deal.

For the Jets in the 6th round it's a great pick. You have a guy who can skate, has good hands and a great shot. When his compete level is high he can be a bottom 6 NHLer which is almost best case scenario with a 6th round pick. He will need to develop his physicality and use his size if he wants to make it. He can be a really good player.
