Sudbury Wolves 2023-24 Season Thread (Part 5)

This is the type of game (being short handed) that should benefit Chucky. Some older guys are already defeated and going thru the motions. This needs to change quickly. Send a f@cking message to the Gens. Show you are worthy to wear the Wolf on your chest and you deserve a spot on the playoff roster…
Show some character pls
Coughlan has been quiet in the last little while and hasn't really played with that edge we are used to. Showed a bit more last night vs the Petes but tonight he let his point man get to the net on the second goal. Molnar, Pharand and Walton we need much more effort from them in a full 60 minute game.

This might be a great preview on how Walton can lead and carry a team…time to show what you got.

Reactions: Wolfman Jack
This team looks like it's given up without the big guns in the lineup. Chitaroni crunched, looked hurt. Everyone on the ice looking to do anything but stand up for him.

I don't understand resting this many players when Niagara could still easily catch the wolves. Gens almost quadrupling the wolves shots on net. Kudos to Krawchuk in this one.

Well like I said keep pressing and they did. Good overall effort. Refs could have a called a few holds on the Gens as well as the ones called on Mews. O'Toole with a blindside hit was cheap and should have been called. What a meathead.

Anyway proud of the effort!!!

Most impressive was keeping Barlow and Ritchie off the scoresheet with as many PP's they had. I would be concerned as an Oshawa fan. Their GM was interviewed after the 1st and have to agree with him. They are not playing as well as they should heading into the last week of the season. Tonights win is not impressive. Wolves gave up lots of shots but I have to say for the most part we didn't give them second chances and kept them to the outside. We protected the middle of the ice and neutralized their PP. Wolves worked hard considering they really have no movement left in the standings to make. They could have mailed this in. Owner/Manager/Coaches take them out for steak for the effort tonight.

You can also say the Petes got away with a lot stuff too. Seen a lot of badly reffed games this year but this one isn't anywhere near some the ones Wolves have played in.

Love that Villy slapped that right down the Petes throats for being so cocky all night.

Lol the refs won you the game. They got the primary assist on the winning goal. Can’t beat a short handed, young last place team without the help of the refs.

Absolutely regarding Molnar and Pharand. Such a disappointment. I thought Walton was alright.
This team is going absolutely nowhere though unless it can learn to show some semblance of discipline. What is this ridiculousness about being the most penalized team in the league? It makes no sense to me, that alone can lose a series. Mews with three minor penalties!
I wouldn’t feel too great about myself if I was Oshawa, only beating this lineup by one goal. Yes Chucky played outstanding but they didn’t look that good to me and the Wolves were able to contain their power-play very well for the most part. I think I’d take them over Kingston.
