MAAAAAAAAN what is going on? 3 train crashes, one being the major disaster in Ohio, a truck with hazardous material crashed in Arizona last night and just today a Blackhawk helicopter crashed in Alabama.
They were a tad late in shutting down that area. Twitter showed cars just randomly driving through an orange cloud ....lil scary. (I thought it was an ad for a video game at first. It looked surreal.)
That's a highly congested truck area so they are use to rollovers unfortunately....the driver passed away :(

We are 2 hours from there, but heading that way on the 25th.

I have my theories about all the crashes, but I shall keep them to myself

I was serving at one of his shows at the Garden, maybe 5 years ago? It wasn’t the most profitable evening (though it was still very good) but it was easily the most fun I’ve had while working. The music, the people, the vibe. Just everything was non stop fun and laughs. No trouble from anybody. Concourse full of people dancing and singing. It was unforgettable.

I got a much needed car wash at lunch today. My car is so sparkly now :)

I love the mild weather but the other shoe has to drop at some point right?

I’ve been tailgating with the same people for +30 years. It’s a blast.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but it is a bit odd that trains with hazardous material have never had any incidents in decades and all of a sudden you have multiple happenstances within a week. It's...curious.

I’ll tell you this much; don’t piss off the people who cut your hair. I was waiting and this guy came in. When they told him it would be a 45 minute wait, he dropped an F bomb and left. The girl who cut my hair is going to remember who he is and mess up his hair bad if he comes back!

Gotta check in on the mobile app now. The days of expecting a walk-in appointment within 15 minutes are over.

That sounds fantastic. I’m more of a “I’d like to sit in the back and nod my head to music” guy now. Part of me is still thinking, “ok, maybe 1 night on a GA floor is ok”

There isn’t enough Advil to go around
This for truth.... although I almost spent 700 on front row for Judas Priest.....but I love a good center balcony seat....just sit back, headbang and take pictures....

It's still baffling to me how many people in our company don't understand the basics of where and how to save documents on the computer.

I get excel workbooks entitled "Copy of Staff List Template (008)"

Or calls from people saying they don't know where to find a document because "it doesn't show up in Recent Files anymore"

:help:

Another train derailed today near Detroit. The report is no hazardous chemicals on this one.

Me, reading about train wrecks and chemical spills and then thinking about the freight trains that regularly pass within about 200 yards of my apartment

I believe it. One of my good friends is a senior IT guy at a hospital in the northeast and he tells me stories of the ridiculous (mostly computer related) IT tickets he gets from professionals who are major surgeons and the list goes on from there over something pretty simple that they failed to figure out on their own.

Definitely look into what type of train goes by your apartment, imo.

What happened in East Palestine is a disgrace. Imagine that happening and seeing all these dead animals and sick people and telling them "it's safe". Gaslighting 101. Scary, scary stuff.

I like how its 1am and were just chilling on the porch. Just two pals hanging out.

When I leave here shes gonna miss me. She headbutted my closed bedroom door 3 times at like 7am today

If "Nilodor" is still available in the US, we can't get it in Canada anymore, it is excellent for removing odors - one or two drops on a saucer is all it takes to clear out odor in a room. I see on their website they now have specific pet products for skunk odor - can't attest to that since we never had it here.

Edit - just did a google search and Nilodor is available here again! So happy to find that out!

On a side note, to remove carpet stains try "Folex" - that stuff is pure magic. Really! Every person I have told about it is amazed. I don't know why it is isn't more popular.

For the skunk, they hate light and noise. Our friends had them under their front porch and no animal removal company would come out and recommended putting a light near the hole and also to play music. It worked.

A quick google tells me there are on average 1,734 train derailments per year. I think there's a difference between anomaly versus heightened focus on something that is normally not paid attention to whatsoever.
That's where I am at too. It is no secret that our rail infrastructure is old and in desperate need of replacement in order to modernize and when you factor in the wear and tear along with the major shifts in temperature at some point the tracks will fail. You also have to factor in operator error and if something is on the tracks and is struck.

People are hyper focused on many things and once it lands on social media and gets picked up, it spreads like wildfire. The more sensationalized, the better.

The train derailment in Ohio should be getting more news coverage than it is getting.

I don't do conspiracy theories. They are rooted in fantasy and wishes. I prefer to deal in facts and logic.

Most derailments are train versions of fender benders too. Pretty much 1 or 2 wheels jump the track, the train stops and waits for equipment to come put them back on before continuing.

We love our skunks. We have skunks, wild rabbits, squirrels, etc

I think it's cool that every year we have a family of skunks living underneath our old shed. I like to think it's the same generational family. They're good for the environment. Especially when my city has construction. They eat the rats and mice haha

We have a motion sensor light outside in general. Sometimes I'll throw cat food for them to eat as a treat (I know I'm crazy). My female dog doesn't bother going near the hole. She can't be bothered. My boy dog is curious little buggar. He stuck his head in and the skunk let him know that wasn't cool. Ever since he got sprayed he hasn't gone near the hole. I think he's traumatized!
