Post-Game Talk: Stupendous Stu offsets the broken Hyman

I'd enjoy all those great Amplifiers more. Marshall Stack, Orange, yum, lets play some music.
The one top is a REVV D20. Canadian made and Canadian company. I bought it in January after initially wanting a Fender Deluxe Reverb, but with the 51st state shit going on, i spent my money else where. As you can tell. Those are British marshalls and British Orange AD30.

I just listened to a podcast this morning that talked about the invention of the Marshall amp stack, separate head units from speaker units and how revolutionary it was in musical invention.
ironically those early marshalls where reversed engineered Fender Bassman amps because they were expensive to import. Its wild how over the years the sound of marshalls diverged from fender so much.

Even more ironic, the two guys who gave modern rock n roll its most important inventions weren't even guitar players. Leo Fender wasn't a musician at all and Jim Marshall was a drummer!

Alexei Mikhnov.

Then he scored that one crazy end to end goal in preseason one year and the hype train ran through the roof.
Whatever happened with David Oliver? I remember coming back from hockey game listening and Rod was gonna have a heart attack it sounded like. Oliver had potted a hat trick and Rod was just so excited.

Might've been pre-season game to be honest. But the guy just disappeared after a hot start to his NHL career.

No.. people coming into threads making bold claims with zero info or telling us how they know is not right regardless if he was right . How are we supposed to know if his info is solid or who he even is? Always wait for official confirmation. Sucks Hyman must be pissed

Nah.

You just need to learn to know what posters are worth listening to, and worst case to take it with a grain of salt.

I was a drummer, what do you mean by that? ;)

Says something about all of us. Either a true love for the game and the team, or in the very least some strange form of undiagnosed masochism or humiliation fetish.

Or maybe both. 🤔

Anyway, let's go Oilers!
Or we live in the North where its Winter a lot of the time. lol. I find it easy to be fascinated with hockey and other things in Winter that I don't give any time to when the weather is better. Really feel like hockey is seeping far too long into summers now.

Oilers better get it done this time. All the newer fans deserve this. By newer I mean than me, lol, who has been here since 72...haha

There is no need to bring in Max FN Jones up 3-1 , you bring in someone who can come close to matching Hyman production Skinner is a 1000 game vet who can score , others on the team can do the bodywork, You bring in Jones early against Panthers or Canes

It's weird, I was 24 years old watching that 2006 run and I don't remember Doug Weight at all lol. Zero memory of him
Funny story about 2006. The oilers also had a trade arranged for Dougie earlier on TDD. Didn’t get in in time and he went to the canes. Also almost had machammond back as well .

The one game in that stretch where he wasn’t stellar had this place melting down with posts that look extremely pathetic in hindsight. I wonder if those same posters will give him a little grace from here on out. Probably not.
Is it necessary to try and incite another Skinner related brouhaha with this post ?

There is still much to say over his long term play, but in the spirit of trying to move forward during the playoffs, well done Stu!!

We’re all hoping he can keep it going to a successful conclusion.
