Post-Game Talk: Stupendous Stu offsets the broken Hyman

Nah, he looks like an actual goalie now and is making reflex and desperation saves that he never used to make.

Exactly this. Better puck tracking, positioning, more aggressive in battling to see the puck, and vastly superior lateral movement. It's like he read all of the negative comments and worked his ass off to prove all of us wrong.

Not a single person was posting this wtf are u going in with? This is that I post after a big win? Everyone is happy Stu is on a roll. Ridiculous
It’s all I’ve ever wanted was for Skinner to be a reliable #1 goalie and give the team a chance to win most nights. I lost all confidence him, BUT… he’s been giving them that goaltending at the biggest point in the season. It’s such a huge confidence boost to the team to get goaltending like this.

they're happy cause he's playing great and they've been wrong about him....AGAIN

but then there's the "we will never win anything with him!" or the "trade him even if we win the Cup!" crowd that comes out after every loss

certain posters only show up to bitch about "not my fault" Skinner
Playing great and being wrong about him are not mutually inclusive. His biggest issue is his consistency, even his biggest haters know and have seen that he can run hotter than the sun. If he can keep that up for five more games then great. If he shits the bed a couple times then potentially that's fine too.

All he needs to do is find a way to keep Hyde at bay 5 more times out of the next 10.

You go to Jeff Skinner and tell him if he wants in he has to play Hymans game. Hit everything in sight and control the boards on the forecheck. If Leon can do it Jeff should be willing as well lol
They better not tell him that. He doesn't have the speed to do what Hyman does, so you'll have a guy always out of position chasing hits. I rewatched the game that led to him getting benched, and he did his job defensively and put up an assist. Even added a couple of hits when they were there.

I can say with absolute 100% conviction. The Nuge is HUGE!!! and at a mere $5.125m/yr. The Nuge and Hyman contracts more than offset the Nurse contract and buyouts. I'd also add the Ekholm and now Walman contracts as well.

Fairly lacklustre regular season but he’s been amazing these playoffs. Lots of players on this team are on a similar trajectory but Nuge has really stepped it up.

Poor Roope

Are these posters in the room with us?

Most of the people who hated on Skinner the hardest seem to be posting here tonight...

The third period was perfection. That was hockey at a higher level than that team of overrated p***yes knows.

25-28 man commitment because I think that extends all the way through the black aces. If Hyman is out at all that really sucks, but I also know that there are more than a few bodies on the bench and in the black aces chomping at the bit to step in and contribute. A year ago I would have been devastated at him being out, now I know we have guys that are going to sell out to fill the gap if need be.

Let’s go win this f***ing game on Thursday, then go win a Cup. This group f***ing deserves it and needs to go make it happen.

OH for sure. He might not play the same game, but I can't think of anyone more motivated to play the most insane hockey of his career than Skinner. And he's fresh.

I said it in GDT. The stars are aligning for Jeff Skinner to score the cup winning goal

just wait till the next Oilers loss ;)
Nah. Stu has now earned this net and I bi*** about him all of the time. I also think Edmonton is doing a great job protecting him. Megan Chayka was writing about how much we have limited rush and side to side chances.

But STu has made big saves every game after coming back. Did not think he had it in him TBH.

I am not an even keel fan, but Stu would have to allow like 5/6 goals the next two games to get shat on

that's why he's a 2.5 mil as opposed to an 8 mil goalie (Hellesuck aside)...its consistency

but anyone who watched last years playoffs would know he plays better as series go on
