Post-Game Talk: Stupendous Stu offsets the broken Hyman

Ok so Stauffer says Brown would be back for game 7 if this series goes that far. So if we manage to win one more game he’ll probably be back for the finals.

So if Hyman is out for the playoffs we will get Brown back and then either Arvidsson or Jeff Skinner take the last forward spot.

It’s a blow but these things happen. Injuries are always a possibility for any team, just have to adjust. The guys filling in are fresh and should have more jump, similar to Holloway and Broberg last year.
The issue is how huge Hyman has been and how good Florida is. If Reinhart is out too I think it’s even but going into it without Hyman is going to be rough.

It was expected.

Arguably a better duo than Sid/Malkin, more experienced, improved depth

Improved D as well. A stable Skinner was the only thing needed.
This team was always goaltending short of being SC champions. Now we're getting the goaltending.

Theres not two other players in the world that have worked so hard to get a cup, not to mention so many other players on this club digging down.

But best Oilers D lineup I've seen. We have 8 D that can actually draw in. Kind of crazy. 6-7 of them can do top4 in a pinch.

There just isn't an easy D pair to be had, ever, for opponents. Thats probably the biggest story of this lineup.

I said before Game 1 against LA this team could lose in the first round or go back to the Finals or anything inbetween.

I give them credit. The vibes felt different from last year. They didn't have Ekholm. The forward corpse hadn't really been healthy together. Skinner and Bouchard were less than convincing in the regular season.

The hope was that they were sleepwalking through the regular season and the gamble was they could flip the switch for the playoffs.

I wasn't convinced they could do it but so far so good
