It has to be a long time since the Leafs scored 3 PP goals in a game.

Stolarz was fantastic. Defensively the Leafs were good, especially OEL and Timmins.

Reaves on the ice with Pacioretty getting his head pounded on the ice repeatedly and did nothing. He did nothing the rest of the game. If that's not a one way ticket to the press box or waivers, I don't know what is. Useless.

I am done with Reaves. He should be waived.
He did nothing last year as well when Marchant pulled his antics

The K.I.S.S formula on the PP finally. Two of the goals are simple shots from the point with some screen in front. Didn't even require a howitzer, just throw it to the net.

Specials teams performed tonight.

I think they've done a lot of that in recent games, but it posts or just missed the bounce. They will likely get a lot more shots and bounces go their way. Simple is definitely key.

Someone mentioned that in the Bruins GDT they were mentioning that Reaves was deterring their team from engaging physically.

Fans of the opposing team apparently don't think he's useless.

He doesn't really add very much if his role is to forecheck hard, and hold back on fighting. That could be any bigger body with good skating and a bit of chippiness. Like Lorentz.

... so he didn't deter his teammate getting head pounded on the ice? Yeah, ok. Kampf also got levelled pretty good and at least Domi got up on his horse, even if he didn't do much.

Useless for sure.

Surprised to hear the Bruins felt deterred. They looked like their chippy selves.

First shutout of the season! And a deserved one for stolarz/stole my heart.

Everyone played well tonight from goaltender, defensemen and forwards. Our buds did Hard work and good work.

Toronto finally beats Boston since forever. Our First win in 9 games against them. We were due. We could have defeated them last week in Boston, if matthews didn’t make a lazy, selfish and stupid turnover to hand the game to the bruins.

Special teams and goaltending have been solid tonight. Leafs scored two goals on the PP(rielly, knies ) and despite our lack of disclipline, we killed all the penalties against us. Thanks to stolarz, arguably the best free agency signing in the league this summer. Anthony stolarz literally stole our hearts this season with his steady and excellent performances in nets. He does his job and makes the saves. He has a very Calming and reassuring presence in goal, unlike RayCroft, Toskala, Jonas « monster » gustavsson, Reimer, Bernier, Andersen, Campbell, Samsonov, Murray, Woll who didn’t stabilize the goaltending position during their career in Toronto. He reminds me of Potvin, Cujo and Belfour.

Nylander stepped up with one goal and one assist
Marner has been excellent with 2 assists
Rielly 1 goal and two assists

Knies the puck possession beast along the boards. They cant knock him off the puck and take it away from him.

Well at the end of the day, he's not gonna be scratched/waived after a 4-0 win.

I am old school as anyone get around here. I appreciate that part of the game. But he's getting paid 1.5 and he's slow otherwise. if he's adding that element and sending a message, then there are other players who get paid league minimum can bring that

Probably should have been a 4-2 type game for us but we got all quality in the nets tonight. Everyone was battling tonight at least. A little too early to spike the ball and think the PP is fixed, but they did approach it more in a Berube way, by the looks of it.
