CantHaveHim be our only option in net heading into the playoffs.

Pathetic that the best player in the world in 30 years has his legacy tied to this plug in net.
you must be so salty tonight lol

oh look skinner another .800 game but hes so friendly
next time post AFTER the game so you don't look foolish

I agree that skinner wasn’t at fault for either goal tonight tbh. But let’s be honest he’s a below average no. 1 and we should absolutely be looking for goaltending help. He isn’t a Stanley cup winning calibre goalie.
Alternatively maybe the Oilers can stop making average goalies look like Patrick Roy. They should be blowing these mediocre teams away but they make goal scoring look like solving an algebra equation.

Lol, he's a big reason the Oilers beat the Stars to make the finals, and was one win away from being a cup winning goalie....

And to call him a below average starter is delusional... He's fourth overall in the league in save precentage in the last 11 weeks thats almost three months... So all but three goalies are below average? Yes the bad start tanked his stats, but since then hes been average to above average at times.

He’s actually worst in the league, he just had the worst playoffs a goalie can have.

Not my fault Skinner is a fraud

On occasion stu is frustrating. I’m pretty sure he frustrates himself sometimes.

He is young for a goalie and if he takes a step the sky’s the limit for him.

Yeah, if you ignore all his bad games he looks better than he is.

He almost single handedly lost us the Vancouver series.

Pickard should have played against the Bloos and Skinner against the "weak" Chicago Blackklocks.

Why would Skinner be afraid of a bottom feeding team? He's amazing against them! Oh but the Bloos are at the bottom too and he struggled. Pathetic goalie.

He struggled? In what regard?

I do agree though that Pickard shouldn't start against the Blackhawks because his numbers against them this year are really bad.

He played and allowed more than zero goals.

Anything other than a shutout for Skinner appears to be the only thing acceptable for some. Even then I'm sure some insane mental math would get trotted out to explain why he still sucked despite the shutout. "One hit the post!" or some moronic bullshit.

When we beat the Kings 1-0 the narrative was "Well the Kings can't score anyway". It was eye-rollingly stupid.

Have to give him some credit last night. Also few missed empty nets. I was listening to Gregor little while ago

He was ripping us for saying we need an upgrade on either goalie. Then he lists off stats since November.

Never once does he post the stats against top ten or playoff teams

Yeah, the standards are incredibly high around here. I posted in the PGT after the Red Wings game about how Skinner finished the month of January with a .921 save percentage and people still complained about almost every goal that he let in. Is he supposed to be putting up a .970+ every game?

There also seems to be an idea around here that any save percentage below .900 in a game is a massive failure. If Skinner puts up a .890 he is "garbage". Do people not realize that the league average save percentage is around .900? No goalie puts up an above average performance every night and anything below average isn't automatically terrible.
