If the Oilers win the cup it won’t be because of SSkinner or Pickard. It will be happen if the TEAM quits giving up hdsc(13 in one period is ridiculous) I recommend the equip guys duct tape all the players butt cracks so they can keep their heads out of there. This team has played several games this playoffs where the quality of play in their own end should have had them eliminated long ago. They only need two more wins, hopefully the duct tape holds up

I was almost working nonstop during the bubble and missed a lot of 2021, but how the holy hell did Nurse finish seventh in Norris voting that year? Was it strictly based on points? I bet he'd make a hell of a power forward and the kind of finisher McDavid needs on his flank, but I know that's just a pipe dream.

...And the North division was utter shit.

If Nurse made 6m you could deal with it but yeah 9.25 is just too much for him. If they lose this series I think you have to move on from him.

The worst part of his contract is that it's basically buyout-proof and he has a NMC. He's best friends with McD as well, so that might be a non-starter, win or lose. Seth Jones is an objectively superior player by every measure and has an identical deal, and Chicago still had to eat $2.5 mil per to get a taker.

Yup, it's why I will never praise Holland's tenure. The Nurse and Campbell contracts cost us Cups. Succeeding one of the worst GMs in league history just made him look a lot better than he actually was.

He didn't show up at all. There was a play in the 1st when Ekblad passed the puck to Barkov. Stuart was literally still facing another direction when the puck got to Barkov. Good thing our Dman deflected the shot from Barkov

3 goals on 17 shots is not the definition of playing well. The Oilers were sloppy in the 1st. They were also sloppy with Pickard in net. A clear breakaway and Pickard saves the day. There's a reason why Panthers fans were chanting Skinner after the 3rd goal. Wasn't because he was playing well I can you that.

I have no data to back this statement up but I'm gonna guess that Skinner's save percentage on HDSC is below league average & is very noticeable in the games we perceive him to "struggle".

Also, I saw it posted in this thread that Florida had 13 HDSC in the 1st period & I find that really hard to believe. They must have missed the net a lot on them because he most certainly didn't stop 10 of the 13.

Another laughable post. When Skinner gives up goals like the three you mention, as he frequently does, you either defend him or disappear from the board for the night. And there are examples of you doing exactly that within the last week. I’ll say again that the Walman goal in particular was a f***ing bullet that saw Bob moving his glove hand after the puck had already gone by him. You simply don’t have a clue about how much velocity was on that shot.

As for the HDSC … you may have seen that number posted up somewhere, but there’s no way it accurate. 13 HDSC on 17 shots? And ten of them saved? Yeah, I’m calling bullshit on that.

Purely anecdotal of course, but the third most popular jersey I see around Edmonton is Skinner. How?? Hardly anyone wears 99 jerseys anymore either.
