Stuart Skinner needs a nickname

Just you watch... Skinner will get a 40-save shutout as the Oilers win 2-0 (second goal on the empty net) to force a game 7, then allow 0-1 goals on ~20 shots in game 7. :P
Somebody may be cheering for a "local" team with her attempts at jinxery (I can hear the internal screams at that last word) 😏

I am doing no such thing. I'd have actually preferred Edmonton to win it when the series started, but it was only a mild preference. However, I just want the season to be over already, so at this point I'd prefer for Florida to close it out on Tuesday instead of seeing Edmonton force a game 7 on Friday.

What kind of hockey fan doesn't want to see a game 7 in the SCF, you might ask? Who in their right mind wouldn't want to see that? A burned out one, such as myself, apparently. Also, let's not pretend like I'm in my right mind. :P

I think that's most fans. If any sport was ro rely solely on hard-core "gimme all thr games ya can" fans, their revenues would shrink to probably 25% of the current amount.

They are entertainment industries now more than sporting industries. This is why I absolutely believe less is more.

Fewer RS games, fewer PO games and it'll create a higher demand per game that will drive up overall interest and higher revenues.

People have lives and other interests and it's only a matter of time they check out.

2 months for a PO tournament? NFL is 5 weeks- one of which is a bye week; March Madness is 1 month. This is the first time I've watched games in each round in a VERY long time.

What's funny is that I'm normally one of those fans. This is the first year since I've been watching hockey that I've felt this way.

Perhaps it's because I'm getting older, but it's not like I have anything else to do that's very interesting. :P

I'm more or less retired too but I just have too many other interests to focus it all on one sport and watch game after game.

I'm an avid reader, documentaries, shows, hanging out, working out...I'm also really bad at paying attention to any one thing for any significant length of time lol

Its a bit dumb and very inaccurate.

His career is fine and he will earn his money regardless of whether he wi s a cup so this doesnt ruin him.

Also this is mcdavids 10th season and this is skinners 3rd other than 2 brief callups cuz of injuries in previous years. And theyve gotten farther in the playoffs than previously(although those earlier teams had more flaws than goalie)

Skinner would be elite if he was 20 lbs lighter.

And a competent goalie

He’s got a .906 career save percentage.

He’s competent.

More than that, he’s a frame for gear. It doesn’t matter if he’s 230 or 180 - he occupies the same amount of net, he’s just lighter, faster, better conditioned, and probably doesn’t need to be spelled for close to two games in the finals.

He isn't spelled. He's taken away from his job due to lack of competency

His career playoff sv pct is .893

Call him `Tao`in honour of Wysh`s crazy ESPN tire-pumping.
Honestly, Pickard should start tomorrow so hopefully Skinner gets a nice raise (if EDM wins) or backup job otherwise.

Can you explain why 6-inner would get a raise if Cal Pickard manages to rescue this season?

I admit I don't know what your post is saying

Can I ask why you include college B-ball?

Can you you show the venn-diagram where anyone overlaps with the 2?

I was using March Madness to contrast the NHL's 2 month marathon.

Didn't word that the best, did I? Steam of thought kind of stuff...
