Pyotr Kochetkov has been very impressive in goal. He continues his strong play from Russia-CHL series. I think he will be Russia’s #1 for the playoffs.

I think there is a good chance of him getting drafted this year.

Because of his performance against Canada, I agree Kochetkov might get the #1 job in the QF but Tarasov has been strong as well. Nice position for the Russian squad to be in. I think their D is much stronger than people gave them credit for, especially Alexeyev and Romanov.

I've been impressed by Leason and Anderson-Dolan for Canada, strong in their roles.

I liked Fehervary a lot. 1 more season in Sweden, 1 in AHL and he'll be a solid 3-4 defenseman.

Brannstrom, Bemstrom, Madden, Barratt, Poehling, Entwistle, Shen, Slepets, Romanov, Talvitie, Kakko, Dostal, Kvasnicka, Kurashev

Michal Ivan has been playing very good for Slovakia. He’s been playing much better than players on other nations drafted in first few rounds of draft. Still don’t know how Ivan wasn’t drafted.

For Russia:

Expected:
Kravtsov his talent level should allow him to be exactly where he is right now a supposed top offensive threat for team Russia.
Romanov even a bit more than expected, but that mentoring by his grandpa and the KHL experience seem to work pretty well.
Shen always effective while not flashy.
Kochetkov is Mr.Calm.

Less expected:
Slepets is an amazing 4th line choice for Russia. Bragin again with a hand for guys with fight in them.

Not expected but hoped for:
Podkolzin shows a lot of things at 17 that will make him a great great player. His vision and puck protection are superb. He sees the geame some moves ahead. He should get a tryout at C sometime soon, obviously not in this tournament though.
