As the new season approaches I'm trying to figure out how to watch games this year. Last season I had NHL Live, which was far from great ,but worked for a reasonable price ($30/month). Being in NS I only had 2 blacked out games all season.

Turns out that NHL Live is no longer available and now we are forced to use SN Now, I got in touch with them over chat and they can't give me an answer on how many games I would be able to watch, the person answering my questions literally said "you should get most games...". Technically if I got 42 games that would already be most Leafs games... Not a great deal for $35 a month.

Anyone knows of other ways to watch Leafs games, other than SN Now or having to get cable again?

Such a pain in the ass. It's almost as though they are trying to turn fans away.

Best of luck, I'm sure an internet search will provide you with options. Android boxes may be another solution.

CBC Gem is free so that covers ~25% of the season.

Beyond that uh yeah internet search should cover you.

I keep cable just to watch sports. so much easier.
Problem is blackouts. Some TV over ip services give you every game. Might be black marketish but Rogers started out as a pirate of US broadcasts. I'll admit I don't know the laws in full but I believe it isn't illegal to receive streams. Transmitting them is a different thing. I've seen some packages that looks like they have every sporting event in the world.

I can't recall the last time a game wasn't available to me on cable here in Burlington.

By blackouts, I mean other teams. I watch a lot of hockey so I hate not getting viewing on habs and sens games because of regional conflicts.

Got it. Yeah that can be frustrating but I find there is always something to watch. Between the Leafs and NFL, almost every night is covered.
Non game nights are usually when I'll watch something with the wife/family anyway.

I had a similar issue the cheapest option for me was to get bell fibe tv app, you'll need the premium version. TV programming packages | Fibe TV app | Bell Canada

I'm not sure how its listed for 94$ a month. Try calling and bundle, i'm only paying 29.99$ a month for it. I can stream on any device with the fibe tv app.

Other alternatives:
- Theres also a well known website that has NHL games. I wont list it here
- Look into Iptv + VPN ($30/m for iptv + 2.99/y for vpn

There are far cheaper services available if you look around.

You live outside the Leafs region, like me.

If you buy SN Now Premium, you will get all the National games broadcast by SportsNet on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday nights. You will also get any regional games broadcast by SNO or TSN4 on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday.

Since SN Now Premium is replacing NHLtv, and you do NOT live in the Leafs region you would get 100% of the Leafs games. I cannot think of a game you would miss out on.

If you do not want to spend that kind of money, you can go black market. I tried a paid IPTV service last year, and it was hit and miss. Most of these pirated streams came from the non-Leafs region, so even when I flicked on TSN4 or SNO for the regional nights, it was often blacked out. The IPTV providers tried to find available streams but it was definitly not a service worth paying for imo and many times I ended up watching the visiting feeds for full or portions of games and sometimes I even had to go with an alternate stream. I can think of '66' reasons to go that avoid IPTV if you need is specifically Leafs games.

In the end, if you pay for SN Now Premium, you'll get what you want, at a cost.

For those in the Leafs region, it is a different story. You will need access to both SportsNet and TSN4 in order to catch all the regional games.
