With the consecutive days off, you'd think Jets would be re-energized and have lots of get up and go, especially to start the game. But noooooo, team came out flat, and never got it going for the majority of the game.
the only saving grace for me is that if a team had to beat Jets, at least it was Canucks. They are the other team I root for in the North Division.

I think that much time off kinda messes with some people. Gets you unengaged.

that's criminal for professional athletes to switch off after a measly three days off. More than three, might be understandable, but 3 days isn't THAT much time off! I hope Jets are now mentally back in "game shape" !

Keeping in line with the Magic theme around the GDT, it appears that The Curse of the Nucks has been lifted... until now.

And his response?
Finally I am not the only one noticing our leadership group is leading us to mediocrity and underacheiving. Another flat, listless game by C-S-W but this time without the 4 to 5 minutes of come back. After that dud by that line, and Scheifele near 0 % faceoff wins, I would start Gus-Harkins-Lewis ahead of them next game. Make a point and light a fire under the "leaders mattresses".
Wake up before the game is almost over, preferably before puck drop, should be message.

I've been told he will want out without more ice time.

I'll catch up on the usual PGT loss discussion in the morning.

Why would he care about ice time? The less the better for staying healthy for the next contract. He already got his in terms of money.

im a little sad to see how people are turning on shief and wheeler myself included all because the coach wont hold them accountable. all it would take is to just take a game and not 1- start them for OT 2-start every 4 on 4 or 3 split them up when playing poorly. but he avoids doin all of that

Did anyone else notice how Ehlers faded after some longer shifts. He needs to be fresh to make a difference.

I think you can say this about nearly every top player in the league. There's basically 3 exceptions at forward that come to mind for me: Crosby, McDavid, and Patrick Kane.

And I think that's kind of the point of most people that rag on the top line getting so overextended on most nights thus far. All of the top 6 need more shifts with less TOI and it needs to be distributed more equally.
And it really shouldn't be 100% certain that the Scheifele line plays the most among forwards. If they're clearly struggling then their minutes should be reduced. I commend Maurice for the micro adjustments he made in the last Oilers game to shift Lowry into covering McDavid. Adjustments like that should be more expected and less of a surprise when they happen.

It's a combination of small quirks that just never seem to get addressed that are so frustrating for me. It definitely gets overblown most of the time, but my biggest worry is that we ride Scheifele into the ground so hard that there's nothing left to give come playoff time. We'd Bruce Boudreau our way in and out of the playoffs.

jesus christ thats depressing. 8.25 mill for the next 5 years while being the rumour that the fan fav wanted out isnt going to be kind to wheeler if he doesnt correct those numbers. if he thinks the media can be cruel in canada and get defensive and bitchy like he did when playing good wait till he plays horrible its gonna be him asking for a trade lol

Surprised that the announcers never mentioned that the Jets were undefeated against Vancouver in last 10 home games.

Winnipeg, Manitoba,
I don’t get the bit about riding 55 into the ground...not like he works very hard? He should have all kinds of energy with the effort he puts forth most nights. A finely tuned athlete like him.

Can you imagine what would have happened to Ehlers if he would have stayed out for a full 2 minute PP?
Is he the next guy getting railroaded out of town by the leadership trifecta? One of Wheeler or Maurice has to go... or both.

This next week will be telling. Calgary going to feel some momentum after beating the supposed top team in the northern loop. Will our team prove that their record isn’t just a product of playing a weak Sens team for 3 games or are we legit?

Hoping tonight was just a blip.

Oh, and solid game by Helle
