No, I just forgot to come back to the thread later.

I guess it means you said something that the person hears quite often. Kind of hard to analyze, without context.

Or they'll say something like "Never heard that before."

Like for example, say I'm wearing a Hurricanes jersey, but I'm a Preds fan. So when someone goes up to me and asks "Are you a Hurricanes fan?". I can't just say, "No, I'm Preds fan.". That will get a "Everyone says that " reply. I have to say something like "I was born in Carolina, moved while I was an infant, and don't remember very well so I have a few Hurricanes jersey. At the end of the day, my dad ended becoming a Preds, so therefore I'm a Preds fan, now.

Or, say I had a lengthy beard and I decided to shave my beard. And someone were to ask, or point out that I shaved my beard. I can't just say" Yeah, I thought I'd try clean shaving." I have to say "I couldn't find my beard trimmer, so I just used the normal razor."
