Injury Report: Stolarz Stretchered Out Of SBA During Game 1

Just trying his damn best to accidentally injure Skinner.
I think that's a bit of an odd strategy.

Not a knock on Skinner, but Bobrovsky is pretty clearly the better goalie. Running Skinner is almost daring someone like Perry to run Bobs, and he'd be the bigger loss.

When it happened it irked me but I dismissed it. Now looking back on it, it was the signal that the Leafs had no chance of beating Florida in these playoffs.

The Leafs did not answer Bennett knocking out Stolarz. They had to answer that in game 2. I don't care the Leafs won that game. They won the battle but lost the war. The Leafs needed to answer Bennett with a vicious hit, or go after Bobrovsky in similar fashion. Take whatever suspension or fine came at them. It's not an easy decision but it's what needed to be done.

I'm amazed Frederic didn't take a run at Bob theres really no reason not to at this point other than the 5 min major you'll get. I wouldn't even hide it, just blindside him.

He was 2nd in GAA and 9th in SV%, but he was trash?

Of course Florida is tougher competition, why make such an obvious statement from your perch of condescension?

Seems weird to ignore the numbers.... he had a .901 save %... trash.

Who ignored numbers? They are relative. He was 9th overall out of 18 goalies in the playoffs this year. Mediocre sure, but "trash" is a stretch. Combine that with his 2nd overall GAA and I would say he was in the top 25% of post season goalies this year in the playoffs. 🤷‍♂️

Relative to his regular season, trash.

I'd take into consideration the quality of opponent too.

Relative to other goalies in the playoffs, decent.

Sure QoC can be taken into account, that applies to all other goalies in the playoffs as well. So once again, relative to his competition this post season, he wasn't trash.

And once again, when taking into consideration QoC and expectations, trash.

Funny because Stolarz is good but Rielly is trash

8/10 post, good job, no logic or relevance, but the effort is there.

It sucks that Stolarz wasn't good in the playoffs though, he was amazing in the regular season.

What do you think the reason was? The pressure?

I think with a healthy stolarz they could be in the cup final

Really, one of the most delusional posts on this board.

Criticism being what it may be, he was giving up less than the other guy and we were winning.

Maurice’s cringey self-introspection and excessive self-confidence and Bennett’s gutless outside the rules mandate given by Coach Cringe and all of the Panthers can still get bent as far as I’m concerned.

Barely...

Toronto gave up a lot more quality chances against Florida than Ottawa.

The way Stolarz handles the puck would've been huge vs Florida.

The minute they started the hard rim, having D pick it off the boards on there backhand, is the minute they took over the series.
