Injury Report: Stolarz Stretchered Out Of SBA During Game 1

None of the Canadian teams get favored, even the ones we hate.

It's teams like Florida, Boston and Chicago that the NHL favors.
It's easy to figure out the league's attitude towards teams:
1) Are you a Bettman expansion franchise? Favored.
2) Do you have a member of the Campbell family working for you? Favored.
3) Are you the Boston Bruins? Favored.
4) Are you an American team? Favored.

It works more or less like this:

Bettman expansion franchises
Boston Bruins
Other American teams
Other Canadian teams

Toronto Maple Leafs

The Doctors Have to do job and get Stolarz right.

Even though they are up 2-1

Woll has been absolute dog shit since he entered the series.

He needs to get his head out of his ass or they have to find a way to get Stolarz right.

And before anyone asks how they do that, that is not my job.

That's their job

Both tenders have been weak this series .. Bobbo has been worse .. 4 of goals last night were complete and total fluke's

Get a grip.

I'm amazed at how many people want to shit all over Woll today. I guess you guys missed game 2, or you've forgotten already how he was our best player in that one. Woll wasn't great last night, but he wasn't terrible either and he wasn't any worse than the 10 million dollar goalie at the other end.

It was weird game, haven't seen one this entire season with so many fluky goals at both ends. Woll had no chance on most of them, they got the last lucky bounce and that was the difference.

There are no treatments for concussions beyond time. It's laughable to expect the Leafs team docs to revolutionize neurological sciences overnight because someone on HFboards says "its their job".

Woll usually rebounds from bad games, I’m still confident we take game 4 and win in 5 or 6. But no matter how well Woll plays in game 4 it’s Stolarz net when he’s ready to go.
I don't know about that. If Woll is the first star tomorrow night and steals if for us, I don't see how it would be foregone conclusion that Stolarz plays the next one.

I’d imagine his season is over.

Since you are not his doctor, this is nothing but bullshit.

Even if he comes back he will have lost his groove.

Yeah, he was really terrible when he came back from his knee surgery eh?

To me this is the worse thing that can happen. We’re f***ed. Can’t win without your best player and best goalie in the league.

You have no idea what is going to happen with him and they are up 2-1 without him (and the one loss was due to a fluke goal in overtime), so relax.

This series has exposed Woll. He’s not in the same league as Stolarz. The Bennett headshot changed the course of this series. Now Bob has confidence

Turns out they are very much in the same league.

This board thinks that Stolarz from the regular season has been playing this playoffs, it's weird.

Similar script of Samsonov replacing

Let me guess. Woll is the one in the .800?

Stolarz is .002 away from being in the .800, but yes, Woll is below Stolarz, they are both at a backup goalie level.

If Stolarz had another shot against, he'd be below .900

Both have been bad.

I trust Stolarz way more than Woll. Like someone said before Woll is Samsonov level bad. Backbreaking goals that destroy team morale. Everytime he leaves the net is an adventure. He’s just so unstable. Leafs will have to score their way to a win, not defend.

I can count one hand from start of the season to game 1, where Stolarz let in a weak goal.

I would need at least 3 hands to call out Woll's weak goals. Thats the difference, the Samoskevitch save is what we hope Woll can do often, but its more a rarity than not.

FYI, the league average sv% in this year's playoffs is currently .897, a sample of 3,200+ shots that includes mostly shots faced by starter caliber goaltenders for average to excellent teams.
